This has happened recently but have no idea what caused it.
Setup:
Windows 7 Ultimate, 64 bit PC
1 TB Agestar NAS - FAt32
Home network
I can not longer write even a small file to a NAS folder. If I try I get:
"you dont have permission to save to this location"
I go the Windows explorer and can see all the NAS folders and files. I go to Public folder Properties. Select Security. This shows various user names including Everyone. Only Special Permissions is ticked. I go to change permissions by clicking on Edit. I click on Full Control and then get error message:
Error Applying Security
An error occurred while applying security information to: \\NAS\public
Access is denied.
I have tried starting applications with full administrator rights, closed the homegroup, and lots of other stuff but without success.
Previously I was using Acronis every night to backup to the NAS and now of course, that doesn't work and I can't even save a small text file to the Public folder on the NAS. I have checked and rechecked that both Administrator and Myself (with Admin rights) are correct from the NAS end.
No success after a number of weeks. I have searched and searched through the web for solutions but without joy.
HELP please!
Thanks
