I had decent experience using True Image Home 10, however when I uninstalled it all chaos busted loose. Firstly, the uninstallation was problematic because I deleted the uninstaller info (many system cleanups etc...). I had to use the Acronis True Image Home Cleaner tool followed by unprotecting the registry keys that Acronis tries to own in order to integrate into Win7 in place of Windows Backup. After uninstalling and cleaning the registry, Windows Backup would not launch.
See my post on this topic: Fixing Windows Backup After Acronis True Image Uninstall
This will cover the steps necessary to unistall the product for any reason and recover Windows Backup Functionality.

I'm using Acronis to backup and recover W7 ... So far - it's worked.
The trial DL is fully functional for 15 days
It has the options to recover specific partitions and/or the MBR.
To get all the features in Macrium, that Acronis has .. The cost is about the same.
MBR fix utilities tend to leave the partition table alone. The partition table is at the end of the MBR and if it gets damaged you're obviously in trouble.
This little utility below shows your MBR, keeps copies of it, and allows you to replace it (including the partition table!) MBR Backup - Back up your Master Boot Record (Freeware)
I find this useful.
