Now, think about how long it has been since Seven went Beta, to RC. Not release Beta, the first beta build, just out of Alpha. I don't have the dates, but I bet it was at least a year, year and a half ago.
What is the date on that?I think i found the date and you're right:
6.1.5025.winmain.050111-2030
What is the date on that?
WHOAH. I was thinking it would have been sooner. Anyways. M$'s cycle for new OS's is about 3-5 years. So that would put W7 from Beta to RTM at 4 years (roughly). So, think about it. If Eight is (very very very tenatively) around 2012, 2013, that means it would be Beta (following Seven's timeframe) around 2009! Which is obviously not going to happen, but I might guess at around late 2010. So another year roughly until Beta (closed or release, I don't know). That just doesn't seem right.I believe it's November 1st, 2005
Dude, LOL you believe it is real? HAHA With reguards to the whole change you want...if you think its not good enough, why don't you tell MS what they should do...really what else can be done with the computers we have on the market today? You are asking for James Bond computers when that technology doesn't exist to the public. (If any of it is real, may be, maybe not, who knows lol)windows needs to change, i am tired of the same old thing, i thought vista was going to be a load different. I want something radically new as far as taskbar and just your basic desktop(like OSX but you know different than that, thats the kind of change i want)
Keep windows the way it is in a business versions, but for home use make it completely different. So far everything i see of windows 8 is just a redone windows 7.
redsoxm, is that Beta build pre-release Beta, or just an early compile?
LOL you are living in the past. That tech DOES exist! Microsoft Surface is a great example. It is not as good as it is in the movies, (duh) but it is coming along VERY well. Just very EXPENSIVE. I want one, but not gonna happen!Dude, LOL you believe it is real? I doubt it is, but it might be.Are you sure that's Windows 8 and not...
"Microsoft plays with new non-Windows OS; If only it could start from scratch"
"First paragraph is illogical
Larry--
In your initial paragraph, you claim that the subliminal message behind MS's development of a non-Windows OS is that they would like to move beyond Windows but can't.
I don't see how you conclude that MS's development of a new non-Windows OS is in fact tacit admission that they can't move beyond Windows.
This doesn't seem logical."Microsoft plays with new non-Windows OS; If only it could start from scratch | TalkBack on ZDNet
I'm sure the early builds from any previous version looked a lot like their predecessor since you have to start somewhere in order to build on that as well as see improvements incorporated into the next. You can expect that they'll work further with the new WinMin kernel as well as expanding on the XP mode likely to see a Vista or 7 mode even at some point.

well i read somewhere that rtm would be around built 7300 so this built 7312 could most probabz be the sp1 for windows 7
Vista mode????
Dude very less people likes vista. If they they include vista mode it`s gona be another flop.
