Windows Update don't work anymore since Dec 16 ?

I don't think there's anything wrong with it, although you may want to consider uninstalling it and then reinstalling from a fresh download.

Have you edited the registry or used programs that do?

Do you use "Tuning" or "optimizing" programs on your computer?

Have you disabled any services? Last resort would be to uninstall those updates from that day and try to reinstall them one at a time. I gave you the tutorial earlier.

Assuming you've tried all the other tutorials I've provided, try these:
SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker and Repair Install - by Brink
I did not use any "tuning" I only use ccleaner... to clear my temp files...

I did not disable services.. I checked the windows update service and it's normal...
Symetric, do you use Ccleaner to clear temp files or internet temp files? Try not to clear temp files for the rest of the time we are troubleshooting, but clearing internet temp files should be fine. So long as you only use Ccleaner for what you've mentioned, it shouldn't be a problem.

However, I recommend not using that program unless you know more of what you are deleting, and also try not to use it at all while we troubleshoot your problem.

It's only the the internet temp files... If I choose to remove all my Dec 16 "Office 2010" Update (including SP1 for Office 2010..) you think it's a good choice ?

Hi symetric,

Trying to correct an update error/hang has got to be in the top ten list of hardest problems to solve in computing.

From what I have seen so far in this thread especially now that you have un-installed the updates of December 16th, you are now two cycles out of updates. No matter what you have tried, nothing works.

If you were prudent, and have made backups of your HDD before all this started I would use them to restore your machine, if not you could do a Factory Restore. If you tell us the make, and model of your machine, we can help with that.

If neither of those are possible I would do a http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1649-clean-install-windows-7-a.html, but with this method you will need either a OEM or Retail disk.
Yes, no matter what method you decide to use it will be difficult, but at least you would know you are going to see light at the end of the tunnel.

This post by gregrocker offers some useful tips in getting prepared: http://www.sevenforums.com/installation-setup/151566-reinstalling-windows-7-a.html#post1300819

You will need to prepare by backing up all of your important data, and run a program like Belarc to retrieve any hardware product numbers, and software keys.

symetric,

I believe what Anak is telling you is right. It may be the only thing you can do at this point.

But reading back on this thread a bit, I have found some things that you are missing. Remember I had you post the BSOD errors you got here? No?
You have yet to post them. I looked more into the windows event viewer picture you had and saw at the top that it said 'windows kernel-power critical error'. Here is the post where I asked for the BSOD info: http://www.sevenforums.com/windows-...-work-anymore-since-dec-16-a.html#post1793592

Read the BSOD Posting Instructions link I sent you and post everything it says here. Are you getting help for it elsewhere?

Wow... that's not good news heheh Well I will take time to think about re-format my system, the only thing is bugging me that my program willnot run anymore, and games installed I won't be able to play them except if I re-install games...

As for BSOD... well since 5 days no more...so..the next one I will keep my dumpfile for you to analyse it !!

A question ,if I re-format when I will put my Win 7 Pro Serial Number it will be accepted without problem ? It's a Win 7 in a box that I bought at Best Buy ?!

If you haven't already, then yes. It will reset settings, but it is not a complete reinstall. Just follow the tutorial, and read everything it says at the top. It will explain it a bit more.

Do the repair install before you try a clean install just in case it fixes your problem for you (so that you don't need to reinstall everything).
