BSOD playing borderlands 2, bccode 0x000000f4

Hi Welcome to Seven Forums.
To help us help you would you please add your systems specs? Here's how: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/180324-system-info-see-your-system-specs.html#post1530002
Under System Manufacturer/Model Number add whether it is a desktop or laptop and whether self built.

Log in to Seven Forums and you will be able to transfer the info directly to the specs page in your profile from within the System Info app.
After doing this your specs will be available in each of your posts. Click on mine in the lower left to see how it should look.:)
Full instructions in the tutorial.
This is so we don't have to search the thread for specs.:)

You may have a bad SATA controller on your board, MSIs are known to be troublesome. Try using a different SATA III port for the SSD.
Go to the MSI site and download and install their newest SATA and chipset drivers.

Hello there!! I assume you are the guy Arc was talking about. I have added my system specs as you have instructed. I have been looking for someone to help me. I have been quite desperate. My bsod issues happen randomly, its not only in gaming its also when i do other typical things on my pc. I have switched the sata port for my intel ssd boot drive with OS. I still have the same problem. My sata and chipset drivers are updated. Please help me with the bsod. thanks.

Thanks for the specs, good job! Did you get the latest driver form the MSI website? The ones on the CD will be older ones.

Do you have a RAID setup or have your user files on the HDD?

Try running Borderlands 2 with one of the HDDs disconnected.

Oh, did you run the HDD diagnostics on both HDDs?
I've asked Arc to have a look at your new dmps.

It would seem one of the SATA ports is bad possibly. Keep the SSD on SATA_1 or SATA_2, they are the 6Gbs ports, and swap the HDDs in the other 4 ports to see if there is a combo that work. One of the HDDs could be installed in the SATA III port the SSD doesn't use.

Thanks for taking the time to look at the dmp files and other files in the win 7 diag report. I really appreciate that you guys are taking the time to do this for me. It means a lot to me. I did try swapping the ports for the hdd but i still have the same issue. Since you said that its a disc/ file system related issue, do you think i should exchange my ssd for a new one and try that out? I ran the seagate tool test on the ssd and it didnt find any errors. However, should I still swap for a new ssd? Or is it a bad motherboard sata port? If it is a mobo issue i am worried i can't transfer my windows 7 oem license over to the replacement mobo of identical model.

Try this with the other HDD and with both disconnected. I'm thinking it may be a bad board.:(

If I recall, I know a person who replaced a board with en exact replacement and his OEM activated fine. I'll contact him to make sure in case I'm wrong.

Hello Shrimpy. I am the one Britton30 was talking about. I have swapped motherboards on an OEM license before. I had no issue getting it to activate. You may have to call Microsoft and explain, but with the same model and version you have now, there should be no problems. Some have to call, others don't, it activates automatically. Mine did not require a call.
