Solved BSOD on return from sleep mode

This problem started after a fresh install one week ago, so I am understandably reluctant to go back down that route.
Have attached the speccy and crystal info.
Click on the caution button of the first disk's case, and then follow the instructions of this post. Something might be changed here.

Plan on backing up what is on the 1TB drive, it is going bad. It can happen at anytime and be unreadable, AKA, data all lost.

Thank you.
I must say my suspicions were moving in that direction.
I have in fact just completed a backup with NG15.

Have run Memtest. No problems reported.
Ran disk checks with Seatools, HDTune, Crystal, no problems reported.
However the BSOD persists.
Next step, I guess, will be a re-install followed by a sleep test after each change.
Either that or I dig into my pocket and get an Intel.

Once again my thanks to all who provided advice and assistance.

I tried it out after all of the checks.
To be frank, it's not a train smash, just annoying.
I'll probably try the re-install this weekend.
In the meantime I have uploaded the dumps etc.

Uninstall Norton and all Symentec products using Norton Removal tool.

Uninstall Avast using Avast Uninstall Utility.
Use Microsoft Security Essentials as your antivirus with windows inbuilt firewall, and free MBAM as the on demand scanner.

Download and install those, and then run full system scans with both of them, one by one.

I haven't checked which storage controller do you use. Whatever it may be, be back to mashci, sys.

  1. Right click on "my computer" icon and click "manage" on the context menu.
  2. It will open the "computer management" window.
  3. Select "Device Manager" in the left pane, It will list all the existing devices up.
  4. Expand "Disc Drives" by clicking on the triangle in front of it.
  5. Select one item under it, right click, uninstall.
  6. Continue the process for all items under "Disc Drives"
  7. Now restart the computer. At restart, windows will auto configure the appropriate system driver, msahci.sys.
AMD Stor Filter Driver.

Update it, from AMD Support & Drivers.

Do these all, and whenever it is done, upload your MSINFO32.nfo file.

  1. Click on the start button
  2. Type "msinfo32" (without quotes) in the search bar of the start menu, click the resulting link. It will open the System Information window.
  3. File>Save. In the "File Name" filed, put "MSINFO32" (without Quote), give the save location to desktop, and click the "save" button.
  4. Give the time for processing, it will save a .nfo file on your desktop.
  5. Zip it, and upload it following the instruction.
We are to check whether sptd.sys is uninstalled properly or not.

So, let us know the results.

I had taken the actions previously suggested but it made no difference so I put the products back.
As I said, I had been running this particular mix for quite some time with no problem, so you can appreciate how I feel about removing product for which I have paid.
Perhaps I should apply for refunds. :p

I will do as you suggest report back when all is complete.
Thanks again.

I have to point out that none of these products were problematic during the last 2 or 3 years.
It strikes me as strange that the problem only arose after I re-installed Windows 7 and re-installed the various products, especially since these products are in common use and some are in fact distributed by the MB manufacturer.
In any case, I am busy carrying out your recommendations.
Will post the results as soon as.................

:)

Followed all steps.
Had a bit of a problem with AMD_XATA.SYS (or AMDXATA.SYS) found numerous references to the file, including downloads from a variety of sites but nothing related to a driver update package.
Found reference to the file in the ATI driver package so ran the latest version of that but even after that completed I could not find the file anywhere on my PC.
In any event the BSOD on return from sleep no longer occurs.

Thanks a million. :D:D
