Now I've been having quite a deal of trying to restore a lot of default stuff after having some theme files go wrong. As you could see I've been posting recently about "how to get this back", "why is this blank" stuff like that, I'm sorry. I guess this is what happens when you don't back up your files. I'm learning the hard way and will back up my files next time. :I

Now to my question, every time I download something it's icon shows up as a blank page (picture) and this isn't only for iTunes. I was just using iTunes as an example. But as you can see in the picture provided, there is a blank page for the icon. I don't know why it's doing this, it does this both in Firefox and Chrome, I reinstalled Firefox and it still does it. Here's a catch though, whatever I download has a correct icon for it in my downloads folder or where ever I save my download too. (This only applies if it has it's own icon, like iTunes for it's installation.exe icon). I'm pretty mind boggled about this. I don't know any other reason why it could be doing this. I just did a fresh install of Windows 7 Home Premium (x64) and at the time being, I cannot restore my hard drive as in I need an Acer recovery disc, which I do not have (which I'm sure if I could do this, it would solve my problem).

Thank you for reading this. (:

Hello CosmicPoptart,

The program's icon will be seen on it's .exe file or shortcut instead.

That's the "Open File - Security Warning" prompt, and is common for the icon to be like that in it. You could use the tutorial below to unblock the downloaded file to stop getting this.

Hope this helps, :)
Shawn

But the point of this thread, is even on firefox, it shows up as a blank page icon while I download it. For an example: If you went an downloaded iTunes it would show the iTunes icon on firefox while you're downloading it, while on my side, I just get a blank page icon.
