Hey,

I am not sure if this is possible however is there a way of installing Windows 7, activating it with my OEM key and then created a recovery partition just in case I am ever in the situation where I need to run it using a hot key during boot?

Cheers

The easiest way is the OEM Recovery disc.

I see in your system specs that you have a Lenovo do you not have One Key Recovery Option ?

Hey,

as I broke the partition table and installed a clean version of Windows 7 I have lost the ability to use the one click recovery that Lenovo provide so i am having to look at other ways of doing it.

Since you have the superior Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 there is no reason to consider having to go back to the bloated Factory Pre-Install.

The practical way to recover a Clean Reisntall is shown in the tutorial: save a Win7 backup image to external HD so that it isn't lost with the same HD if it fails. If you don't have an external or need to have it onboard for other reasons, create a Primary partition to store it on. You'd then use the Win7 DVD or System Repair Disk to reimage the HD or its replacement in 20 minutes.
