FABULOUS! I'm still running the 2001 sequel to the original Wolfenstein 3D dos game on the 64bit 7 here! I'll be looking for it probably over the weekend.

It does give a nod to the original, but no it's not a remake.

Graphically it's okay, but some higher resolution textures may have helped. On the plus side it should run smoothly for most people, even on lower specced machines.

Gameplay wise, it's not too bad. Movement feels a little slow though. It does suffer from repetitive NPC comments, phrases etc and the German accents sound like the same guys who did Necrovision.

It is pretty fun though. It should be good for those who like multi-player.

i've been playing q2 on my psp . i havent seen a demo yet. wouldn't it be better practice to release a demo, then the full game? it would be nice to know if it'll run on my eClunker.

It may not be a 3rd installment while it still looks that way while the story line is actually what seems to remain the same. The maps are quite a bit from the 2001 version that saw no train station of any form there. So you know there will be quite a few changes in game maps.

It's not remake...
Optimized well - It runs fine on high settings (res 1280x720) on my computer (look at the specs)

The original dos game was something else there where you constantly had to bump along walls in order to find any hidden rooms and was strictly limited to walking everwhere. You couldn't jump and walked around with a giant machine gun!

I think that's one reason why Duke3D gained in popularity besides some alien blasting since Duke walked around with his shotgun instead all the time! :roflmao:

The first RTCW being the far better made game starts off in a prison cell in the bottom of one castle where some doctor is experimenting and you have to break out and go through that to exit one map to meet your contact. You go through villages, a couple more castles with a few surprizes in between plus have to get into the airbase "quietly" as well as another small village "quietly" again if you follow that and move onto the 3rd castle and face a big obstacles again and .... you'll remember the rest there!

That one saw only one or two cars and a few trucks parked mostly with only one you had to follow while the new one here shows more of a Soldier of Fortune II train station being an entirely new look! The effects in the labs for this one look a lot like the showdown in HL2 as well as the beginning of EP1 in this one.

I didn't see the link for any demo while I'll have it either friday or saturday at a local mall most likely.

I played that game so much that, the last few times I'd play it, I was literally going against the clock to see how fast I could finish it. I remember knowing the hidden places by heart!

What I don't remember anymore was if the game came in a 8", 5 1/4" or 3.5" floppy

It likely came in both 5.25 amd 3.5 in time since you have to look at the release date. The 3.5 floppy was just coming in about then while most old 286, 386, 486 were still seeing 5.25 drives. The higher priced models then saw the 3.5s.
