Solved "USB Device Not Recognized" but the device is working fine.

This has become a great annoyance to me.

Whenever I have my keyboard and mouse plugged into my computer (the mouse uses a USB port on the KB (it's a G-15)) I keep getting messages of "USB Device Not Recognized", however, the mouse and keyboard work perfectly fine. It's not really a problem, it's not restricting me, but it is extremely annoying.

Any solution to this problem?

Note: I recently re-installed Windows (literally about an hour ago), it did not do this beforehand.
Note 2: I have tried to restart the computer.

A search turned up some easy things.

Does this happen coming out of sleep or hibernate?
Does this happen in another USB port
I think you said you rebooted - no change. If you haven't rebooted, give that a go.

Last one: right click on the device in Device Manager and select "Scan for update". Could be the USB, mouse or kb - scan all asscociated devices

That's all I have,

Bill

1. I have not put the computer into sleep or hibernate, so that's not relevant.

2. It happens regardless of the USB port, but only with the keyboard, it seems. (Will confirm this)

3. Yes, I've rebooted.

4. I'll try that.

I have managed to sort-of circumvent the problem by setting the icon to "Hide Icon and Messages" and muting the "System Sounds".

Oh, and just to add something, I've tried it using a different account (there are 2 on the computer) and I still have the problem.

Tried without the keyboard, I don't get the messages, but I do get the system sound of something being plugged in / unplugged constantly.

I've got the latest version of the G-15 drivers.

I'll get that motherboard information for you.

EDIT: Huh... after being off for the night, it seems to have fixed itself...

Well... okay.

I guess I'll mark this as solved.

I love when that happens, great job!

G-15 is a motherboard eh. Guess it's not the Logitech keyboard. I wonder where I got that idea? Maybe I was working on another thread - not sure.

Thanks

No, the G-15 is the keyboard.
I was going to get the motherboard information, but it seems to have fixed itself, so...
