How To Remove A Corrupted Windows XP From Dual Boot ?

Hello, this is the thread that has actually brought me into this forum -

I was using Windows XP but installed Windows 7 Ultimate X64, around 8 months back. Since then I don't use Windows XP at all. My HDD is 1TB & I have 4 partitions made. Win XP & Win 7 are installed in 2 different partitions. So when I boot into Win 7 (Installed in C: Drive) as I always do, I use the Win XP Partition (D: Drive) as normal space to keep my other files.

I think I've deleted a few system files (Of Win XP) from the drive & as a result Win XP is corrupt & not running anymore. This is the error I'm getting :

I don't use Windows XP anymore & not planning to use it in future too. I want to completely uninstall it from my PC & planning to make it dual boot with Windows 8.1 later on.

The (Windows 7) is a Logical partition, and it is not the Active partition. It needs to be a Primary Active partition. I think you need to follow Greg's instructions in post #8 here: [URL]http://www.sevenforums.com/installation-setup/48566-remove-xp-partition-dual-boot.html#post501196[/URL]
