Forgot Windows 7 admin password: Tried many trcks without effect

I recently got a brand new PC a Dell T5810 Workstation with Windows 7 . However after setting up the account I forgot the password. Can't even remember it with the password hint and unfortunately I didn't create the password recovery disk.

I cant' open the computer in safe mode or safe mode with command prompt, because both of them asked for the admin credentials, there is no default admin account either.

I have the Windows installation DVD and tried to get the PC back to factory settings, but then also it asked for the admin password.

Then I tried several password unlockers( I guess most of them are Linux based) and all failed, it appears to me that they can't find the hard drive.

I guessed my only hope was to " reset a password using the Sticky Keys trick" as mentioned in this tutorial:

I booted from the installation disk however, I cant copy anything from/ to the C: drive as it shows "the device is not ready error".
I checked the list of available drives by using the following command :

wmic logicaldisk get name

A list of drives appears including the C:, but when I tried to look into its directories "the device is not ready error". appears.

Note that the Disk name and Windows 7 DO NOT appear under the system recovery option, as shown in the pic taken from the tutorial mentoned above:

Can the experts tell if I can still reset the Admin password, or Reinstallation of Windows 7 is the only option left?

Lol yeah, the irony of it is passwords only keep out the legitimate owner...

Buy yourself a copy of Konboot it will disable the password and it's legal to use on your own PC only!

(i got it from someone else, and they forgot the password)

It stops sometime while booting issuing an error like "kernel panic.."

Mine is Windows 7 Pro 64 Bit and I've not got success with any such password resetter/crackers ( I tried around 5-6). Most of them were linux based I guess
and possibly all of them failed to locate the hard discs of my comp. One of them gave an interesting suggestion:

"Windows password recovery tool" suggested:
1. go to BIOS setting
2. if hard disk interface mode is SATA, change it to IDE
3. if hard disk interface mode is AHCI, change it to Compatible
4. Save BIOS SETTING, RUN THE UNLOCKer and reset password
5. Restart PC , go to BIOS setting, change IDE/Compatible interface to SATA
6 login without any password

My interface is SATA I don't have any IDE interface in the BIOS menu

I know Offline Password recovery works with AHCI.

The SATA Operation Modes are: IDE/AHCI/RAID but some motherboards word it differently. Perhaps you have "legacy"?
If you can take a photo of screen when it gives the kernel panic, maybe we can find a solution on the Internet.

What's the model of your PC?

Yes something similar to that using on screen key board.
However, I couldn't see or copy/replace the contents of my PCs drive
when typed "C:" at the prompt, it said "the drive is not ready"

That tutorial (and others) should mention that the drive letter often times changes.

See step 4 in this tut.

Try using D in place of C.

I have always had success removing passwords with the two software's listed below:

1. Windows Password Unlocker
2. Hiren's Boot CD

Do some research online on how to use and where to get the software's from.
