I`ve been looking at M.2 since Steve let me in on that, just too much money right now.

I really wanted the 850 Pro anyway

Not to bad of a price for something that is that new.

I remember back in April of 2011 when SSD's were first coming out I paid $286.00 for a Intel 120 gig SSD. Now they cost about $150.00.

You could be the first kid on the block with a M.2/
We could all learn form your testing.

I have been doing a little research on M.2 and I'm really not sure how it would improve much of anything on a system that is working 2 to 4 times slower.
A computer system only runs as fast as the slowest link.

When I backup from a ssd to a hard drive it only backups at the hard drive speed, is a example.
When I back up ssd to ssd, well now the speed is a major increase.

Now the real question for a gamer. After spending $500.00 to a $1000.00 on video card/s would a M.2 improve gaming? If so another $200.00 doesn't sound so bad.

These are just some of my 3 brain cell thinking. Things I don't have answers for.

I don't see how much you can improve gaming with M.2 but it could be because of the PCI-e lanes that aren't tied to the CPU

Since were on the subject of improving gaming i keep hearing about memory stacking for GPU's i really can't see how you could stack 2xGPU ram together just doesn't work that way

You got a G-Sync monitor

M.2 as long as everything is installed on it is about the only advantage I see in read and write performance
Gaming all of which is now online you'd have to have a very fast internet speed to do anything else faster.

I'm thinking about switching from a 1440p G-Sync to a 4K G-Sync, the only thing that worries me is that I don't know if a 970 is enough for 4K.

So everybody here seems to rejoice about M.2 but what about Sata Express, I know that there aren't any hard drives available with it but what I've read is that they should shoot towards the stars with 10Gbit/s.. :huh:

I would expect not able to push a 4k
You'd need at the least a 980ti and some say titan x or z to really push 4k
The 980ti's possibly they do have 6gb the titan series is 12gb cars,

Yeah, I've actually found some Titan cards on Ebay that wouldn't be that bad for my economy.

But still half a K is still gonna burn my ass or feel like it anyway..

Well I do have choices here.

I saw it up close it looks like a beast of a card

I would of gone Ti's if i did n't already have a G1 and doubt i would need to change cards for a while i have plenty for the next 2 years i should be able to game with no issues

I'm back with the evga 980 hybrid on my x99 :/
Darn asus 980 had issues with AOC monitor couldn't go 144Hz with it AOC does have a weird color profile CCI I believe that I had to get rid of just so photo editing programs.... wouldn't have a yellow or another weird background color
Very strange
ASUS 980 is now on my Acer relocation board works good though running at 144Hz on my asus monitor
