Can't map shared drive to Windows 7 machine

Hello,

I have a network storage device with multiple shares on it, some public and some not public. I can map the public shares just fine, but I can't map the non-public shares, even though I own them and have full permission to access them, I get "Access Denied".

I've verified the permissions, and verified the password, but I still get access denied. I can access those same shares from other devices, including a Linux box, but I can't from the W7 machine. Is there something on the W7 machine that I can look at to see why I get the access denied?

Not knowing what it is you have to things the share permission and the file system permission one of those is wrong by default windows passes username and password that your logged in as. You can connect as another user try that and see if it works if it does you need to add your login to permission

The share is on a network storage device, NAS, its not a share from another Windows machine. Permission settings are basically: Read, Read/write or none. Since this is my device, my user as full privileges to ALL shares.

I normally access this share using a Windows 10 machine, but that machine is not available at this time, and I have to use the W7 machine. Also, as I said before, I can access this on Linux machine, so I know that the share is fine, there must be something on the W7 machine that is causing this.

Is the user on 7 that your logged in with different to the admin on the NAS and other pcs? Testing by connecting as another user will show if thatsthe problem if only to eliminate it

Yes, the user that I log into the W7 machine with is a different user, but I am prompted for the user name and password of the share when I try mounting the share. I should be able to access the share by providing the share's owner user name and password, should I not? It works that way for all of the other environments.

Yes, that is what I'm trying to say. I am prompted for a user name and password when I try to mount the share, but I get access denied.

So.....Are there no idea's on how to map this share? As I keep saying, I can map this share on all other devices, including a Linux machine, so I know the permissions on the share are fine. Also as I've been saying, I am prompted for a user name and password. Hell, I've even taken the password off the share, so all I have to do is put in a user name. I still get access denied.

One thing that I've noticed is that on the login prompt of the W7 machine, I see the domain at the bottom. The domain is the name of the W7 machine. Could that be an issue? To the best of my knowledge, the storage device doesn't have anyway to set a domain, so I wouldn't think that would be it, besides, I can access the public shares with no issue.

Again, there must be something on the W7 machine that is blocking access.
