How to Add or Remove "Details" Tab in File Properties in Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8

This will show you how to add or remove the Details tab when users right click or press and hold on a file and click/tap on Properties in Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8.
You must be logged in as an administrator to be able to do the steps in this tutorial.

EXAMPLE: "Details" Tab in Properties Page of a File

Here's How: 1. To Add "Details" Tab to Properties
NOTE: This is the default setting. A) Click/tap on the download button below to download the file below. Add_Details_Tab_to_File_Properties.reg

B) Go to step 3.
2. To Remove "Details" Tab from Properties A) Click/tap on the download button below to download the file below. Remove_Details_Tab_from_File_Properties.reg

3. Save the .reg file to the Desktop.
4. Double click/tap on the downloaded .reg file to Merge it.
5. Click/tap on Run, Continue (UAC-Vista) or Yes (UAC-Windows 7/8), Yes, and then OK when prompted.
6. When done, you can delete the downloaded .reg file if you like.
