I personally would disable [Never check for updates] WU's and then run SIMPLIX once a month when the new SIMPLIX [or DISM++] package becomes available.

[1] After you have run SIMPLIX, run WU's for such things as Windows Defender and other updates that you think are important to your OS.
[2] After Patch Tuesday normally.
