Hi

I have MS Office 2013 which includes MS Word.
For a few months now Word keeps crashing, usually but not always if I open a document via a shortcut or from winion Words files list.
As soon as I go to type anything, Word will crash sometimes restarting only to crash again.
Most times if i open a document direct things are OK for a while but eventually crashes start again.

I have run scannow, done the MS Online repair which re-installs everything but nothing fixes this.

Even viewer seems to just report 1000 error codes.

Could really use some help please?

Example events below:

Hello mikesndbs,

yes, you have reported this error about a week ago, and I honestly do not know what is causing the issue.

Since you have tried re-installing Word, then you might like to try repairing the .Net framework. The .Net framework is located in Programs/Features.

If that fails, then try disabling your anti-virus program. Do this while off-line, for your own safety.

Thanks, I'll try the AV first then report back!

OK, So I disabled all of Bitdefender's modules and interestingly Word worked fine.
I then re-enabled them one by one and when I re-enabled Advanced Threat Detection, Word crashed again, but was a bit more stable.
I have previously added WINword.exe to the exceptions list, I have now added all *.exe relating to word to the exceptions.
Not feeling 100% this is the issues but seems a good place to start!

Just as a further update, I think I have confirmed that Advanced Threat Defence is causing the issue. However it does not seem to matter what MS applications I add to the exceptions list, Word still crashes.
If I turn the module off I have been unable to make Word crash.
I've sent a support request to Bitdefender.
