Hello group. My HP Elite 7500 Series MT has no sound coming out of the tower is it normal?

I went to device manager and clicked on update Driver Software but it says it is already the latest. I would like to know if it is normal that there is no sound coming out of the tower.....

Do you have any speakers attached? If so, you can go here- HP Elite 7500 Microtower PC Software and Driver Downloads | HP(R) Customer Support and download/install the Audio driver.

If you go to Control Panel, Sound, are the Speakers shown as active in the Playback settings?

This is what i see at Sound from Control Panel. I brought some speakers today for the sound but i would like to know if there is any audio card installed in the computer or if it came from the factory with none.

If there was a sound card installed, it would be listed and one could select it. Since none is showing, he should enable Speakers.

According to this, there is a headphone output on the front and audio out on the rear. Are yours not working?

Some hp models also have a small speaker in the case, maybe the 7500 doesn't.

I would say that all motherboards come with a audio chip. Realtek has been the audio codec du jour for years and years. Many of the laptop makers have moved off of Realtek to another audio codec. I'm leaving myself open to disagreement since I didn't research this thoroughly.

Most computers are sold without a discrete sound card except I'm guessing, for gaming systems. I think they're going to become passe since the latest motherboards have excellent audio chips which rival them. I didn't have a discrete sound card for 25 years until I decided, for some reason, to install a Sound Blaster card (this is not an advertisement) about 5 years ago.

If there is an audio chip then why is there no sound when i raise the volume on the task bar?? There is no sound coming out of the tower whatsoever...When i open youtube there is no sound...

Or maybe i am mixing up internal speakers with sound card...idk i'm still a noob when it comes to computers.

Did you enable Speakers for Playback?

A sound card is a separate card that you install/insert on the motherboard just like a graphics card. An audio chip is built into the motherboard. Towers don't come with internal speakers.

Towers don't come with internal speakers.

Some do but it is not all that common. e..g. HP z230, z240 and more.

See, I knew you would find one.

I just plugged the cable at the back of the tower the green cable and the power cable in the electrical socket and the sound started working i didn't have to touch anything else.

Out of curiosity, what is shown as the playback device?
