Though I dislike it very much, I can half understand why a trial version downloaded from Cyberlink would be limited, but that is no excuse for a package bundled with a drive to have the same limitations. An OEM should have audio, even if it is only 2.1, like it was previously in PowerDVD 5 OEM, For them to distribute software that is totally useless is fraudulent, because it effects the buying decisions of consumers that aren't aware of their ruse.

There is nothing wrong with the software, its your optical drive.
I've run all versions of Power Dvd, the lower the version the better the functionality especially for blue! Try Media Player classic and see what happens.

Yes, a lot of the functionality was stripped out on the later versions.
IE: ISO, VIRTUAL, palyback in MTS etc.

There is nothing wrong with my optical drives. I have no problems playing movie DVDs and viewing them in other players. Why you would state that there is nothing wrong with bundled software that has no audio, I don't understand.

Can you try a trial of PowerDVD 9? It can run for 30 days.

I ust finished installing this, because it came bundled with a new LG optical drive that arrived today. During the installation, it popped a dialog saying that it was designed for XP SP2, and whether to go ahead and install it or not.Half of the reason that I bought this particular drive is because it included this software. Is there any way to get it to work...short of installing XP?

Are you telling me that the hardware prompted you on the XP????

That is why I have all 3 versions Adrian. With a Fox killer it is great to have them.

Hello Mike, in answer to your question: No I've not had problems in playback with blue ray. I want you to have a look in your device manager and see if your optical drives are giving you any indication of error.

I downloaded it but have not tried it yet. It looks a lot like the K-lite codecs. Been busy and had not had any time to mess with the PC. I will check it out tonight and let you know. Thanks for the info on the file. It sure opens faster then cyberlink.



That works great as does the Cyberlink with the latest patch. All my device manager drivers are perfect. Even checked the registry for odd items when I installed Windows 7. No more crashes since the latest updates from Cyberlink. It was a clean install for Windows 7 by the way. If you need the fox killer let me know!
