Windows 7 on Toshiba Laptop!

I have Toshiba laptop with Vista installed.

I have 1GB RAM so is it OK to install 7 without problems?

Hey Iraq It,

Windows 7 RC works fine on alot of old computers. Memory management in Windows 7 RC surpass Vista and XP. I've just installed Windows 7 RC (Build 7100) on a 1.6Ghz 512mb ram with 64 mb dedicated video memory. So If your laptop is within that, it should work fairly alright. I wish you luck.

Oh one more thing, if by any chance your Processor support 64 bit, I strongly recommend you to use Windows 7 64bit RC1.

2005 Toshiba Satellite M45-S269 Windows 7 Installation

I just installed Windows 7 on my 2005 Toshiba Satellite M45-S269 that was designed for Windows XP. However, my sound will not work due to the fact that the drivers are not supported for Windows 7. Does anyone know where I can find the right drivers, or a solution to my problem? Your help is greatly appreciated!

Your laptop uses Realtek AC97 audio drivers... download em -=> here
You can try the win 7 driver, but due to the age of your computer you may have to use the XP driver installed in XP compatibility mode... Hope this helps...

I have an old Toshiba Equim Laptop and have tried installing Windows 7 on it. Everything is okay except for no drivers for the built-in Wireless adapter and Intel Graphics chipset. So it went back to XP!

If you go to toshiba support site you will find all windows7 drivers updates there .. I have downloaded 12 of them even a bios update .

I thought that you need a special License for windows 7 . My laptop came with windows Vista but I bought windows 7 ultimate DVD.

Could I have used the Toshiba License for windows 7 ?

The license is software specific, so the answer there is yes. If you want to go back to vista, just use the vista DVD that came originally with the Laptop.

Not if that key is for Vista.

You'll need to buy a Win7 key.
