You see, it goes like this. I'm running this laptop with windows 7. I have my games on steam, and it seems that even though I'm running it in compatibility mode, it crashes after it tries to update Steam. What is going on here? I cant even get it to open up. What in the world is going on? This problem has been going on for a week and it's driving me mad.

If anyone here can help, I'd really appreciate it! Thank you!

Hello Terharl1 Welcome to SF,

Most of the times the Freezing issue happens when there are some bad or out-dated drivers. Make sure you have all your drivers up-to-date. If it freezes when you play flash contents then remove your Flash completely and reinstall it. Try with a different browser. Make sure not Antivirus / Firewall is not blocking it.
Try to reboot the System in Selective Startup see whether your having the same issue.

Post us the MSINFO32 File

MSINFO32
Please go to Start and type in "msinfo32.exe" (without the quotes) and press Enter
Save the report as an .nfo file, then zip up the .nfo file and upload/attach the .zip file with your next post.

If you're having difficulties with the format, please open an elevated (Run as administrator) Command Prompt and type "msinfo32 /nfo C:\Users\Public\Desktop\TEST.NFO\" (without the quotes) and press Enter. Then navigate to the C:\Users\Public\Desktop directory to retrieve the TEST.NFO file. If you have difficulties with making this work, please post back.

Here's the test. And I've already tried all that. I've disabled everything by my graphics card and Windows itself on startup and it STILL freezes!

terharl1,

OK most of the crashes has happen when you have played games like Steam, Bioshock and something called SLVoice not sure what that is. Here is what you can remove your nVidia drivers completely out of your computer and download if from the website NOT from Windows Update and see whether that makes any difference. One thing you don't have to play those games under compatibility mode it does support Windows 7. I guess your using Win Root or Spy sweeper uninstall them and see whether it makes any difference. Post us back if case of any issues

Hope this helps,
Captain

Right, I've been checking out what my errors are and a lot of them are "fault bucket" errors. does that mean there might be something wrong with my RAM? I did everything you said to do, and I'm at the end of my rope here. So incredibly frustrated!
