Unable to add RDP users to W7

I've run into a situation. I have a Windows 7 Pro (32 bit) that I'm trying to allow users to RDP into for testing. I've done this many times on XP machines, but for some reason, I can't add users to the W7 machine.

I follow the "normal procedure: allow RDP connections and then add domain users. When I go to add someone, their correct information shows up (Name and [email protected]). However, when I add/apply, it returns to the list of users with the user's name, but instead of the expected user icon, name and "hospice\<username> , I get what looks like an outline of that icon with a "?" on top of it.

When I exit and then return, the icon with a ? appears, but now I only see and "hospice\ " (no username).

Anyone got ideas why this is happening??

TIA

And i'm assuming the machine is a member of hospice.local domain, and DNS suffix search order is correct?

Does it only happen in the Remote Desktop Users local group or with any local group? Like, can you add domain users to the local Administrators group?

Machines ar part of a domain

And i'm assuming the machine is a member of hospice.local domain, and DNS suffix search order is correct?

Yes machines are in the domain and I use DHCP to get IP and DNS search. The identical procedure works for my XP machines....

Haven't tried it

I haven't tried adding domain users to local adminstrators. I can try it today after I get to work.
