Blue Screens and Random Reboots

If you replace the driver (and you get the correct, Win7 driver) - and the system still BSOD's on you - then it's most likely that the device is broken.

Again!

I'm sure this isn't the major cause of the blue screens though, since it happened when I was using my old adapter too

However! These are the only blue screens I'm getting, on shut down, the rest are random restarts throughout the day, I usually get around 10-15 :/

This one was caused by Dnetr28ux.sys which is part of your dlink range boost software. i would re-install the wifi drivers.

DRIVER_VERIFIER_DETECTED_VIOLATION (c4)
A device driver attempting to corrupt the system has been caught. This is
because the driver was specified in the registry as being suspect (by the
administrator) and the kernel has enabled substantial checking of this driver.
If the driver attempts to corrupt the system, bugchecks 0xC4, 0xC1 and 0xA will
be among the most commonly seen crashes.
Arguments:
Arg1: 0000000000001001, Verifier predicted potential deadlock.
Arg2: fffffa8007247988, Lock address.
Arg3: fffffa8004b177a0, Verifier internal data.
Arg4: 0000000000000000

Well I just got a blue screen straight after a restart

I just can't seem to get through by phone to the manufacturer, I sent an email on monday and it still hasn't been returned

The random rebooting seems to be more of a problem at the moment, had around seven just this morning, but not sure why at all

When you set Driver Verifier to catch problems with 3rd party drivers - the blamed component in the memory dump should be a 3rd party driver. If it isn't, then there's 3 possibilities:
- Windows problem
- compatibility problem
- hardware problem (most likely)

Here's your Driver Verifier memory dump - and it blames a Windows component (not a 3rd party driver)

I used to use compressed air on the PC to remove dust, but still got blue screens etc, so I haven't actually done that for a while, I think the last time I serviced was around February

Are there any other cleaning techniques apart from compressed air?

I hate to be capt. obvious here but did anyone notice that the Op shows his FSB at 1600 where the default FSB for the Q6600 is only 1066?

Unless the Op's specs aren't shown correctly this is an overclocked CPU. The Q6600 is not an easy to one to overclock, even for 1600FSB there needs to be substantial work done on the voltage settings not to mention hours of Prime 95 testing for a stable 1600FSB overclock.

Hello, when I was adding the details to that, I copied the text excately as my computer was described by the manufacturer so I had a copy

It was described as

System is built around a very high quality ASUS SKT-775 P5QC S/L 1600FSB motherboard.
With Intel Intel P45 + ICH10R Crossfire Chipset.
So I just put that in the system specs

I haven't overclocked anything myself, or altered the BIOS (except for updating) since I got the system

Thanks for the info Jason,

You can run either DDR2 or DDR3 on this board apparently. Are you running 4gb of DDR3 memory on your board? If running DDR2 what memory speed is it running at and in which color slots? Are you running the Asus AI suite?

If you can find the exact type of memory, brand and numbers it would be most helpful. :)

The sticks are Corsair branded, DDR2, 800mhz

It was a twin pack, 2x2GB modules and both sticks say XMS2 on them, not sure what that means

The serial is TWIN2X4096 - 6400C5 G

I haven't got the Asus AI Suite installed anymore

I think my PC has two yellow and two red slots, the sticks are in the yellow slots

Ah, yeah it does, I didn't see them

It has six slots total

Yellow
Black
Red

Then a small gap

Yellow
Black
Red

At the moment both RAM sticks are in the Yellow slots
