This may sound funny but remember the little mountain icon on Outlook Express & Vista Mail when you started a new email to send. If you wanted to add a pic or animated gif anywhere in the email, all you did was click on this mountain icon and the pic or animated gif would be put in the email exactly where you wanted it to be. HELP!!! this cannot be done in my W7 Live Mail. Is there anyway that I can remove and replace Windows Live Mail with Windows Mail from the Vista OS? Thanks in advance.MM

If you are not happy with WLM, it would be my suggestion to go with one of the many, email clients listed here. Why go with something unsupported. When there are even better clients out there.

Hi,

I'm using the Dutch language version of Live Mail so maybe the names are a bit different then I discribe, but if you start a new message you can go to insert, single picture, select the picture you want to insert and the picture will appear in your message.
You can move the picture around by left clicking and dragging it.

Yeah there are actually two ways to insert pictures and you can arrange them and add captions and do all kinds of stuff.

Insert->Image->Inline is one and the Add Pictures button is another.

Actually gives you more formatting options if you want resize or to insert multiple pictures.

Yes, there is a tutorial in the forums: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/5481-windows-mail.html .
But I should mention that the original author (Pappa Bear) and I have both tried it and decided to give WLM another try. WLM is the Microsoft supported program and has a lot of features that sometimes get in the way of finding the basic stuff. But it does do just about everything WM did. As fseal pointed out the in-line picture option is available. Just avoid doing a "Photo Email" if you want it to behave like OE or WM. (Photo Email is one of the new features that puts the photo on a Microsoft Website and puts only a thumbnail link to it in the email.)

Which in my opinion is actually better. Less cruft traveling though email servers, removes the file attachment size restriction, etc. Also much more efficient when sending you multiple parties as well.
