Hello.
I previously had a Windows 7 installation on a 320gb hdd, but decided to reinstall on my 120gb ssd, leaving my previous install on the 320gb hdd in the meantime.
Install went OK, rebooted a few times after installing updates, etc. I decided to format the 320gb drive with the old install on it after copying some data from it onto the ssd with the new install. Format could not be done in Windows due to the option being greyed out, so I did so from the Windows 7 install CD. Rebooted, error appears from title.
"The boot selection failed because a required device is inaccessible. "
Booted from CD again
1. ran startup repair with no change
2. Executed bootrec.exe commands /fixboot and /fixmbr, reboot, no change
3. Verified boot order and ssd recognized as Bootable in bios.
4. bootrec.exe /scanos = shows 1 windows install present on "C:/windows"
5. bootrec.exe /rebuildbcd = installation detected. Pressed y to add = "element not found"
I'd rather not reinstall and update and juggle all that data around again if possible. Any help is very appreciated.
Update: reinstalled. Meh
