When it comes to controllers right now, I think you're much better off just getting a genuine wired 360 controller made by MS. High build quality, no compatibility problems.

If you really must get one of the two, I think the one on Amazon is way better. The other one doesn't appear to even have the squeeze triggers.

Unless you're attempting to avoid the 'hassle' of mapping one yourself, I'd honestly have to say you're going to be happier with a standard 12-button controller (I use the SteelSeries 3GC and its awesome - around $20, lasts a long time), and I map it with JoyToKey (pretty simple). I never use defaults anyway, but you can get X-input to work on it if you use MotionJoy (but I really have never seen the need for X-input).

Most of the low reviews on that one (and some others for that matter) are from people that either have no idea of how to use a for-PC controller (as in mapping), or else whom never bothered to read the manual to find out about the "Mode" button, switching between turbo on and off... the green light (turbo) needs to be red (turbo off) for it to function how we all pretty much need it to, just press the "Mode" button, map it for your games in your emulator of choice (save the file and never have to do it again for that game), and that's it. It just works (and there's no "dead zone" on the sticks, unlike a couple others I'd tried before this one).

There really is no reason to spend a small fortune buying a console controller for PC.

The only caveat to this, for a select few (the extremely persnickety types), is that you'll need to leave your mapping program open in the background while gaming for that to do its job.

I would definitely go with a genuine XBox 360 controller! They are solid build, great for gaming, use one myself and have never had an issue with it.

Past 26$ is out absolutely of my price range. No chance of possibly owning a controller that expensive. It's got to be dirrtt cheap

If you're that tight on cash, I'd wait for a deal. Last month you could have got a real xbox controller from newegg for $15 including shipping, and there were other deal for around the $26. You missed the big Christmas sales, but keep an eye on the various deal sites so you spot them when they pop up in the next few months.

Or try the old technique of saving your coins from your change away, you'll be surprised at how quickly that $10 can accumulate. Look for opportunities to cut just a few expenses for a short time and you'll make that up. Order a free glass of water instead of a Coke with your meal, skip a morning coffee, buy a regular instead of a large, whatever it is you do there will be something you can trim/cut briefly to make it up.

My concern is that if you buy one of the cheap knockoffs, in a year you'll be looking to buy another again, and you'll just wasted your money. These things are notorious for crappy build quality.

My mother is the one paying all the bills rent and whatnot i'm just along for the ride. so i don't got a job.
we live off income from disability (a long story) so we don't get more than JUST enough to live off of with barely the basic needs. it's going to take a long time to save up anything. gonna have to wait at least a few months to get enough cash for a controller (no credit card or anything so we must go to a store or something)
