64 bit installation problem

Hello all,

I successfully installed and ran the 32 bit version on my second hard drive but I'm having trouble with 64 bit installation.

I'm doing a clean install on the 120 GB IDE hard drive from DVD.

Setup runs until what I suspect is the final reboot and then I get a BSOD with the error message "Attempt to reset display driver and recover from time out failed". It then reboots and loops.

Straining my eyes - the messages only displays for a very little time - reveals that the problem is with nvlddmkm.sys Web searches indicate that was a common problem with Vista and older drivers, but surely these are recent.

System specs in my profile.

Any suggestions?

Umm - I can't uninstall the driver, it's a clean install which won't complete, so there's no driver to uninstall. The driver is that supplied as part of the ISO download.

Suggestions from someone who read my original post?

You may try to enter safe mode and identify the driver that makes the problem

I see 3 possibilities here:

1. Either you graphics card is failing and you just had to install w7 64 bit to find that out .

or

2. You must reset your BIOS to defaults cause you've messed with something, or perhaps update it to latest version and again reset to defaults.

or

3. Change the VGA output on the back of your VGA CARD. Maybe you connect through VGA but perhaps this driver wants you to connect through DVI...

Try the above and keep us posted. (All suggestions above are safe to try)
