I've had RC1 7100 installed since it first came out but I haven't been keeping up with the newer builds, what are the major differences between the two?

Many things for me. More stable, faster, smoother, everything works now , that I had problems with earlier. I highly RECOMMEND moving to 7137.

My sentiments exactly Snuffy, +1.:D

I have found that Punkbuster API problem has crept into 7137, whereas 7100 did not have this problem (mainly in Call of Duty World at War). I am going to install 7100 on a seperate drive to confirm this later...

do i have to format in order to upgrade from 7100?

No you don't have too, although the general consensus is to do a fresh install, cleaner and less buggy in some instances.

I heard build 7140 has been compiled and likely to include quite a few new features. I've been holding back getting the leaked 7137 for the 7140.

how do you guys do a update install ?

I just extract the ISO file with WinRAR in a temporary folder and I run the setup.exe from there.
After I just choose Upgrade in the installation process.

Hope it will help you.

NO, you do not. I have upgraded every version. Even the versions that normally could not be. I'm love UPGRADES, while others LOVE CLEAN.

Hello Snuffy!

It's me again. :D

I still cannot do an upgrade. Same problem. I have a Win 7-7100 installed on a 35GB partition with 15GB free. I start an upgrade and stops stating that I need 20GB of FREE space to continue.

How on earth are all of you folks getting around the disk space check? Does an upgrade REALLY need 20GB of FREE space?

I am extracting the ISO image to another hard drive partition and clicking the SETUP.EXE.

Arrrgh!

I have the following:
c:\Vista SP2 (see pic)
d:\All my downloaded programs
e:\ All Downloaded compressed OS's XP thru Vista
f:\ All downloaded compressed versions of Win7.
g:\ All howto Pirate Files.
H:\ All my EMails, and special family stuff. (mostly Hidden and password protected.) Passwords stored on removable Flash drive.
I:\ DVD device
J:\ DVD device
K:\ Movies
L:\ Installed version of Win7. (see pic)

I use Winrar or UltraISO to uncompress and move my OS to F:\ Install
where I then open and check cversion and EI plus a couple of other items.
changing what I need if anything. go back to and click setup, when appropiate click UPGRADE.

I finally broke down (translation - had some free time) and created enough free space to do an UPGRADE to 7127 - again. I never was able to reduce the free space requirement. I had to create 20GB of free space.

How is the free space requirement determined?.

That is my concern. In the future will a Win7 partition requires as much free space as is currently in use - by the OS and any apps - for an upgrade to succeed? Hmmm.....

On anothet note - my in-ability to uninstall EMC10 and re-install it on a different partition WAS NOT A WIN7 PROBLEM. The problem was that Roxio's "clean install" instructions, for 64 bit Win7 (and I suspect Vista 64 bit) are not so clean. First I received a "private" link from Roxio to a later install kit. Second it STILL would not work until I discovered an orphaned Roxio registry key in WOW6432 that must be manually deleted.

Thanks Snuffy for the help!
