Have you tried forcing PB to run in Vista Compatibility?

Also make sure that the process is running as well.

I had a feeling that anything above 7137 will not work with punkbuster because I remember reading somewhere they added some new API layers in it so anything above 7137 will cause the kick. 7100 and 7127 are very close to the same thing and since 7100 is the RC PB may have updated parts of their software to work with it just not saying cause of their stance against non-RTM software.

I just dont understand why everything is fine with 7127 and nothing else.

Thanks DarkXeno for clearing this up for me, guess I'll just wait on the RTM.

Tried this?

KillPuppy over at TF posted this. thought id share with you all. let me know if it works....

From http://arch1tect.wordpress.com/2009/04/29/...-fix-windows-7/

Currently Punkbuster (the anti-cheat software built into many multiplayer games) has major compatibility issues with Windows 7. Various fixes have been discovered for x32 versions of the Beta OS, but none (until now) for x64. Punkbuster themselves have refused to support Windows 7 until RTM, so forgive the “hackiness” of the fix, but it works.

The Fix

In both C:\Windows\SYSWOW64 and C:\Windows\System32

Open PnkBstrA.exe and PnkBstrB.exe’s properties and enable Vista Compatibility Mode, as well as “Run as administrator”. Save.

Right click on the desktop and create a new text file, then copy paste the following:

Quote:
:start

sc config PnkBstrA type= own type= interact

sc config PnkBstrB type= own type= interact

timeout 60

goto start

Save the text file as punkbuster.bat and run it (as an administrator) before joining a server.

Problem “resolved”.

Thanks for the heads up Nut, I will stick with 7127 for a bit longer then, it seems to be a pretty good build anyway, no bugs or any problems worth worrying about.

Mr.Grim, which have you found to be the faster/better version for gaming in general, 7100, 7127 or 7137? (pb worked for me on all :geek:)

What was depressing is that 7201 was fantastic for CoD4 and WaW Multiplayer, game ran smooth and fast until the dreaded pb kick.

Tried all the tweaks, no joy.

Thanks for your input!
