Solved A disk read error has occurred, - after deleting partition

Greg is right as usual ;-)

But why not simply delete C partition and install windows in that unused space?

The instinct to wipe the HD comes from the 400mb partition which is currently labeled System in the Diskpart output. It might be corrupt and continue to interfere. Remedy is to overwrite any code in the boot sector which requires running Diskpart Clean Command.

In addition Toshiba recovery normally won't run after Clean Reinstall, so you have two useless partitions which are best to wipe. If any data remains it can be copied out first.

OP could delete all partitions except data during install however that leaves possibly corrupt boot code on the HD. Best to wipe the slate clean.

400MB has label SYSTEM and isn't marked system!!

partition 2 (C) is active. When marking C as inactive it boots with "missing operation system". It boots from C. MBR has been refreshed. C bootsector as well. Error message comes from bootsector. Very strange.... Just wanna understand why this happens

Just to clarify: Did you try the standard steps to recover from that error which are to mark the Win7 partition Active and run at least 3 separate Startup Repairs?

If you have problems with clean reinstall then wipe the HD with Diskpart Clean Command.

Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7.

I did this deleted all of the stuff and installed it into the clean space, works now straight off and have a nice large hard drive with no piddly partitions :D thanks guys SOLVED :D

All devices do have drivers? See "device manager". Glad you solved it.... although still don't understand what was causing it! Still thinking about disk errors! chkdsk/r/f C:
run that whole night

As it says in the tutorial, use the drivers given by 1) installer and which are quickly updated via 2) optional Windows Updates. Then only import drivers still missing in Device Manager. DO NOT change out drivers given by either unless there are performance problems pointing to those drivers. Driver Install - Device Manager

It would be good to know for others who find this thread if you did indeed mark the Win7 partition Active and then run Startup Repair 3 separate times to try moving the System boot files to your Win7 partition. Unless that was done then repairs might have worked. Please clarify this.
