Hello SevenForums :orb:!

I was just wondering, as it's soooo annoying that Microsoft is spamming updates to Windows 7 all the time, I noticed that I can drop a couple of fps inside some games. There was like eight updates, and they were about a performance fixes, and some security updates.
My theory is this could cause my HDD activity. After somewhat big updates, I noticed that I can have some HDD activity, and the games i'm playing, is located in the HDD path.
The fix could be just to use the system, by that, it's normally passing the activity away.

What I also noticed, is that when Windows Update is downloading updates, the percent count can go from 10% to a 55%, or so. A little lag is through here, but it's acceptable for such a jump. ;)
Sometimes, Windows Update is not responding.

Is all this I mentioned normal?

I find updating incredibly frustrating at times, particularly when a download justs sits for an interminable time before bursting into life to rapidly finish the download.

I don't play online games as I have a slow internet connection, but Windows Updates will still throttle my connection so that I'm left with downloading or surfing, but not both at the same time.

Another bugbear is the long wait times for Windows to configure an update before a shutdown, then another bout of configuring when it restarts.

I suppose really, I should leave my computer running overnight so that updates can be downloaded during the silent hours, but as energy costs over here are so expensive, I shut my computer off whenever I'm not using it.

So, speaking about the download-installation things, it's generally normal what i'm experiencing?

Thanks for your answer,

Generally speaking FredeGail, yes.

Other factors have to be taken into account such as the number of people on line and slow down times when the Americans, Indian sub-continet and the Chinese pour online in massive numbers.

In the UK, we have around 30million internet subscribers - China has 300million!

Thank you!

Right now, I generally feel like my game is lagging. Maybe it's because I uninstalled the Realtek Audio Driver. I did it so I could test the performance, no luck. Haven't installed it back on due to their servers is so slow.

I also did a ":warn: Clean Install" on my graphic driver.

I don't know.. I just feel like my system got slower all those updates.

Best Regards,
FredeGail
