Hi everyone! It's been a long time since I've posted anything.

I have a friends laptop I offered to help fix.
I don't remember the exact model, but it's an Acer Aspire One. Small older computer.

For whatever reason the keyboard stopped working properly. I disabled the keyboard drivers and they updated when the computer restarted. that didn't help. I also tried a side keyboard, that doesn't work well either. i did the number lock function fn+11, that doesn't work. The keyboard works some times and most the time it doesn't.

I went into the keyboard setting and tried resting it there and I went into the bios to see if anything was disabled, but everything was okay. i went even further, I unhook the keyboard from the laptop and tried using the side keyboard again and same problem. some times the computer starts acting weird. I go into the Internet(pretty much anything that has to do with typing) random numbers and letters start typing with the laptop keyboard and my side keyboard.

What can I do to fix it? I tried everything, I'm not sure if it's fixable. if i missed something ill reply as soon as i can.

Those can be really hard to fix. Youtube might have tear apart guides. But its better to just hook up a bluetooth or usb keyboard to it.

Flash drives, external hard drive and external DVD drive all work with all usbs on the laptop. The only thing that hasn't worked probably is the keyboard. It's brand new keyboard I had put away in case I ever needed it.

I did do the repair install and that didn't work. So instead I formatted the drive, got all the right drivers and still the keyboard(s) are not working right. Still not typing. If it does type, it's doing it on its own.

Don't waste any time or money trying to fix it. The Aspire Ones were pure garbage machines. I had two of them. the first one died on month out of warranty. Several months before it died, several of the keyboard keys started bouncing, almost to the point it was unusable. The one that replaced it died a few months after I got it. It was still under warranty but, by then, I was so disgusted with anything Acer (I also had an Acer desktop that also a piece of junk; even the mouse and keyboard that came with it were garbage), I salvaged the HDD from it, trashed the rest, and replaced it with an Asus.
