Hi! This morning I turned on my laptop. It booted normally. I was able to go online then it crashed . The screen that flashed was so fast I couldn't read it all. I went to advanced system care and scanned and repaired as it said. Restarted fine then crashed again . I attempted a restore and it crashed in the middle of a restore. When I restarted in safe mode...it tried to scan for start up problems..but crashed then too...now I turn it on the fan come on for maybe 2 seconds and nothing else happens. I have not downloaded any new software and it was working fine yesterday. Anyone with any suggestions ?
Thank you!

Only few suggestions I can make regarding simple hardware checks:
- Run with battery alone (unplug AC adapter)
- Run with AC adapter alone (remove battery)
- Remove both battery and adapter and press power for 30 seconds, re-plug and see if it boots
- Remove HDD (possibly 4-6 screws holding the HDD bay) and see if it starts

My battery is dead...I did remove it anyway and try the adapter...no luck. I also left the battery out and in plugged like you suggested..still no luck. I am not sure what you are talking about with the HDD. Would you give me a little more info. My phone crashed this week so I have had no way to reply to this message til now. I appreciate any information you can help me with. Thinking about calling microsoft..maybe it was an update they sent out.

Well, yeah it is a test to see if HDD is somehow damaged and keeping the system from starting.

Unplug the laptop from power and remove the battery too. There is supposed to be a bay under the laptop for HDD. And there will be few screws you need to un-screw to get to it. Simply remove the HDD from the laptop and then attach to power and try starting the laptop. It won't boot of course but you should see BIOS (or Dell logo) if this test succeeds.

Believe this or not. I went to turn it on..it was already on. So I turned it off and turned it back on. It decided it wanted to boot. Go figure. Thank you for your help. I really appreciate it. Was chomping at the but as to what to do. Just hope it stays functional. Next step is staples for a flash drive. Thanks again!
