Solved Acrobat 8 does not create adobe pdf printer

Forget Acrobat. Get NitroPDF.

FORGET ALL OF THE ABOVE.

Download all the updates from ftp.adobe.com while they are still available. Auto update doesn't work for acrobat 8 because it is discontinued.

Install each and every one consecutively (choose always the big files from misc folder, containing efgj (English French german Japanese) and DO NOT restart until the end - update 8.3.1 which is the last.

You must have a valid license because Adobe will verify over the internet and download an e-licence. In order to install in another computer you must return it (Help-->Licencing)

Worked perfectly and printer driver was reinstalled from the updates.

Thanks much, Silkman, ... I screwed around with this problem for almost an entire day. Got a different machine and installed my free acrobat 8.0, which worked just fine on my old machine - Windows 7 home 64 bit, on a Windows Professional 64 bit. Installed the free Creative Suite 2 also. Everything was fine, except the PDF printer wouldn't work.

Bet I tried 7 or 8 different "fixes" I found on the net to no avail. Finally, came across your post, and it worked.

Hi, @silkman (and welcome to @Bill Farrell):

I mean no disrespect to either of you, as I'm sure you both know that Acrobat 8 and CS 2 went EOS/EOL many years ago (this thread is more than 6 years old).

In today's threat landscape, running such badly outdated versions seems like a recipe for eventual malware problems. (This is especially so, since Adobe products have long been a favorite target for the bad guys.)

With so many alternatives out there now, both paid and free, it seems risky to continue to use such outdated, vulnerable, insecure versions of those software products.

But, of course, that choice is entirely up to you.
