Adobe Flash Won't Install On Windows 7/IE 11

Greetings,

I am brand new to Windows 7 and IE 11 which was included and I am getting messages that I need to install Adobe Flash when I go to certain sites that have video requiring Adobe Flash.

When I go to Adobe to install Flash though, it won't install. The pop up that usually comes up in Windows 7 to ask if I approve the download - doesn't come up here at all.

Does Flash not work with Windows 7/IE11 or do I need to tweak something with my computer.

I apologize if this thread is in the wrong place and I appreciate your help.

Hi and welcome to SevenForums,
Click the Start button and click on Control panel,
On the top right next to the question mark click on the down arrow and switch to small icons,
Is Flash player listed ?

If so Open ie11,
Click on the Gear symbol on the top right and Manage add-ons,
On the bottom of the left column switch to Show All add-ons,
Top left column click on Toolbars and extensions,
Is shockwave flash object enabled ?

If none of the above is true you can download flash player/ shockwave object from Adobe's site
Verify flash is installed,

You might also use Gear symbol and Safety and see if anything there is checked if so uncheck Active x filtering

if you previously had flash installed, or have a failed install, you may need to uninstall to clean up any leftovers.

see adobe's uninstall instructions HERE

then after uninstall finishes, download & install the correct version for win7 x64 internet explorer.

make sure you are logged in as an admin user justincase.

p.s. - adobe flash works fine in win7 x64 (64-bit) or x86 (32-bit) & ie11 or fiirefox browsers.

Windows 7 comes with IE8, not sure why you say IE11 was included.

You can un install IE 11 and start again.

My last computer died, so I had a computer repair place transfer my old data to a new hard drive and install Windows 7 from the XP that I was using. They went ahead and installed IE11 among other updated programs.

I feel stupid now - it wasn't installing, because I had all pop-ups blocked, so it was blocking a pop-up that happens when you install Flash. It has installed and is working fine now after turning off the pop-up blocker.

I couldn't get ie11 to install always didn't complete.

Tried all suggestions here and other sites to no avail.

solution is to delete anything related to ie11 download etc then shut down and install ie10.

Obviously there is a problem with either the ie11 version or Microsoft updates.

This also fixed my problem trying to print from ie11.

Hi and welcome to SevenForums allant,

Yep it's a wonder sometimes when items/ windows updates do not install,
Often times a run of sfc/ scannow can sort out the issue
Or a simple shut down and try again or can also be just downloading at a different time of the day or night because of M$ server overload ?
Best thing to do if all else fails is to follow this tutorial and post the files required to trouble shoot further,
