Hi

I just run Advanced SystemCare 6 to optimize my computer and after restart, I check that my computer doesnot suspend

I checked suspend setting and they are as before.
When I go to START >> Suspend it tries to suspend and go back to login screen....

Any idea how can I reset these settings?

First of all, programs like ASC6 are regarded by many of us here as snake-oil, in that they tend to end up causing more problems than they claim to solve.

Do you have a http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/700-system-restore.html point available prior to you installing and using ASC6 ? If so, restore your system to that point to see if that helps.

I agree 100% with Dwarf and FuturDreamz. After doing what Dwarf and FuturDreamz have recommended, (restore point) (SFC) I recommend removing ASC and hopefully all damage will be repaired.

If you go along the System Restore (SR) path as I suggested, then ASC6 will have been removed as part of that process. Of course, that does assume that you have SR enabled and active. If not, then the other suggestion of running SFC and then uninstalling ASC6 is the way to go. Should that not work, or fail to solve your problem, then you might need to perform a http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/3413-repair-install.html.

Generally it's best to simply not futz with the registry. Registry cleaners are butchers masquerading as brain surgeons.

The only advice I can give you is to simply be careful of what you install, and to look at what you install very closely; in order to make sure the installer doesn't push crapware on you.

You are using an XP approach to a much more advanced OS. Win7 doesn't need much beyond a perfect install on adequate hardware.

If this is the factory preinstall then you have the worst possible install and should consider Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 using only the tools and methods given which assure a perfect install.

If you have specific issues then let us help you with those, but its doubtful that what you're asking about would even be a recommended solution.

Well, I still cannot solve this problem.
I tried SFC /SCANNOW but not solved.
I tried system restore and I had this error: 0x800700b7

I restart PC and boot it with Windows boot cd, and I run system restore and I have got the same error: 0x800700b7

I tried with different system restore points and I have got the problem. I think now to run MemTest or HDD regenerator or mey be boot Linux, and copy reg files from: Syste Volume/_restore points... which are SAM, SOFTWARE, HARDWARE, etc.. to Windows/system32/config and try if that works...

Or mey be you can offer me some other idea?
Waiting fir more ideas before try that.

If you can't restore to a point before you ruined your Win7, then I would move ahead to Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 - same steps for retail - to save time and get a perfect Win7 install that doesn't require tweaking. If you use only the tools and methods in the tutorial you will get and keep a perfect install.

Then save a backup image so you never have to reinstall again if it becomes infected or irreparable.

Hi gregrocker,

I cannot belive that there is not a way to fix so little problem and I have to do so huge thing as reinstall windows.
I had reinstall windows a lot of times, it is not that a problem for me, but I am very surprised that there is not a other solution for these problems
Any idea is wellcome. I will try if somebody has another idea. If not, I will have to reinstall as gregrocker recomeded me.
Anyway thank you for your help.

There is a solution when you ruin your Win7 with optimizing crapware, and that is to System Restore it from the Win7 DVD System Recovery Options or System Repair Disk.

If you can't do that then you'll need to try the suggested SFC /SCANNOW Command
and possibly run a Repair Install .

In the time it takes to do all that you could follow the steps suggested in Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 to get a perfect reinstall, then if you stick with the tools and methods in the tutorial you can maintain a perfect install. That would be something new for you, so maybe it's worth a try.

Problem is that to do a clena reinstall is not something new for me.
I did it a lot of time. What I want is to avoid a clean reinstall when I have just a little problem like: Windows doestno suspend.

Mey be reinstall it is good idea. I can try it.

But getting a perfect reinstall as shown in the tutorial, then sticking with the tools and methods given to keep a perfect install would be something new for you since you've ruined your OS before with optimizers that are not tolerated by Win7.

This time after it's setup save a Win7 Backup image so you can re-image the HD in 20 minutes if you can't control yourself and need to ruin your install again.

+1
Using Backup Imaging for the OS can save a lot of time to recover whenever there is a problem...

I don't use ANY registry cleaners, optimizers, tune-up utilities, etc.

The ONLY registry cleaner I have read about on Seven Forums that can be trusted is Ccleaner.
I've never used it, but many members here do recommend it.

I would make a backup before running the Registry Cleaner.

I do use Ccleaner File cleanup regularly - no problems here.

As you do have an Acronis Image, I would try restoring that before resorting to a clean install.
I use Acronis (many years) and have never had a problem restoring an image.

After using Advanced System Care their is no way anybody on earth can tell you all the damage it created. That's why a clean install is the best and fast way to get you going again.

There isn't any needed. Advanced System Care whatever number or any other registry cleaners/optimizers are just about useless if not lethal. Ccleaner's is about the safest there is if you feel that you MUST clean your registry. But still..... be careful and do nothing to it without a restore point of backup.
