Solved Am I doing the right thing ?

Paulo, it is the same WinPE as the one you got from your Macrium - at the 5.0.4995 level. Since a few days there is even a never release that I have not used that. But in time, I will update my Skydrive link with that.

You could uninstall Macrium and work only with the CD. You would lose a few functions like the stored XML files and you could not schedule images. But the rest is the same. On the other hand, there should be no problem if you kept Macrium on your system. Uninstalling it will not buy you much - apart from a bit of space in your program files.

Ok, thanks! I will keep it!
I found another odd thing about the Macrium WinPE rescue disc!
If I create this in a DVD disc and then I use it for a restore, the window saying that I need to install the USB drivers, etc will appear! But I press NO and it will run OK.

But, if you create this "rescue disc" in a USB flash, and then you use it to restore that window will not appear and the restore process is smoother (with no warnings)!!

Why this behavior?

No idea. I have never seen that. But I use CDs and not DVDs (although that should not make any difference).

The whole WinPE file is only about 170MB. So it fits easily on a CD.

Did you actually burn the .iso to the DVD - e.g. with ImgBurn
