It can get expensive at the start. Especially if you try to stock up or try a lot of different things out of curiosity or experimenting looking for .. something .. and your just not sure what it is your looking for.

I know for me personally, when I was switching over to variable, I was also looking for the right juices that suited me (flavor/blend etc). I was focusing on falvor at that time and didn't know about the different blends 50./50 etc, and how the have a impact. Once I learned that it was easier for me to tune in what I was looking for. Another reason I wanted to do this thread. So we can shared our experiences, good and bad, to help others.

But I was also looking for a tank I liked at that time. I liked a few but always something that didnt fit just right for me personally. I spent as much or more on this stuff in a 2 month period as I was cigarettes in that time frame.
But now things have calmed down and I spend a lot less. I experiment less too.

But, My experimentation with different flavors comes from ZampleBox, $30 a month. Really like it, and my new box is due in the next few days. Pretty excited to see what I'll get!! Hope its good!

But once you get settled on hardware, and then get an idea of flavors and Vendors you like, you'll spend a LOT less over cigarettes. Good thing is I have extra Hardware (tanks/drippers) that I can use from time to time when the mood strikes me, and I do use them.
Of course, some of us start vaping and start saving right off the bat cause they are satisfied with everything as is. Some spend about the same, and others, like me, want something to tinker with, I guess. LOL

But I tyhink its safe to say, once that initial investment is over, you do save money.



Let us know how that Nautilus does! I have heard so many say great things about it but never tried it.

Very well put Wishmaster and pretty much exactly how things have gone for me so far. I have bought a fair few bits and bobs aside from the juices but I still think with all the stock I have now that by the time I have to order again I will have saved around 240gbp in 2 months.
It is great fun to try new tanks though and I was really looking forward to trying the Nautilus.

I had some issues with 3 bottles out of the 6 I ordered. The trouble 3 were all made within the last month. The other 3 were made 3 months ago and the taste is great. The first 3 taste awful. I am gonna steep them, I think that's the issue.

But the blackcurrant I am using now is great. The Nautilus is fantastic, the bottom vertical coils are very good. You don't have to take a big draw to get a good hit. The adjustable airflow is a really good feature. I am using the second tightest flow and it's great for me. I tried the most open one and dam that sucker will be sweet for lung hitters. Shit loads of vapor I tell ya.
Overall very happy with the nautilus and I have enough spare coils to last a couple of months.

Well, the good thing about adjustable airflow is you can get it the way you like.
BUT, one days of these you may be sitting around with a fellow vaper comparing hardware. You may find yourself in a just for fun cloud contest.
Fill up with a high VG juice, Crank up the voltage, increase airflow and make some huge clouds just because you can

maybe not practical for everyday vaping but it can be fun.


And yea, on the steeping give it time it varies alot. The flavors and the compelxity of the blend vary greatly too.
Something simple thats say just Green Apple, will probably be ready to go within hours of making it. Its just a single flavor and maybe a bit of sweetner.

But something more complex with fruit, creams etc will take longer.

I've noticed that creams tend to take a few days to devolop when mixed with fruits etc,. Tobaccos tend to take weeks. 3,4 or more.
Coconut is another of those odd flavors in regards to steep time. . Even at low percentages in the first couple days tends to overpower some of the other flavors. After 5 days or so it mellows out and fall into the background and lets the other notes come forward.

Typically the more complex, the more steep time.

Sadly, with Vendor juices alot of times you won't really know how complex it really is.
I'd give them a week. Then try them. If they are improving there's promise.

But even if they aren't something you can try before trashing it is mix a little with something else and try again. Maybe steep a little longer. You'd be surprised what may come out. Sometimes 2 bad tasting juices can make 1 tasty one.
Sometimes its so just really bad though.

Has everyone given up on this thread? I hope it keeps going, there is some good info here. I finally got my MVP2, and so far like it much better. It seems the variable voltage makes a big difference, to me anyway. To some, it probably wouldn't matter.

I got that deadly sin, it is pretty good. Kind of a cinnamon tobacco taste.

I went ahead and ordered a bigger $20 bottle of that deadly sin, I should be good on juice and I'm already good on all the hardware and stuff.

Just $20 for this month is already a big savings.

I got a few flavors now to switch between.

LOL. Yea Deadly Sin is one of my favorites.
I have to put it away and swap flavors to prevent that no taste thing happening but always go back to it. For me personally, its one of those I don't get tired of as easy as some other flavors.
I guess technically it's a tobacco vape. But, seem even those that don't like tobacco vapes ten to like it as well. I don't get that flavor from it that much. Just hints on occasion. But, when I do its a good tobacco.

So, I'll throw this out there for anyone who may be considering one of the RTAs in the future.

I was impressed with the Russian 91% at first. And I do like it. But, after a few days using and messing with the Russian 91% and Kayfun Lite, I have come to the conclusion the Authentic Kayfun Lite is indeed the better option.
What it'll come down to if anyone is considering one is the price you can get them for. If its close to the same price, as mine were, Kayfun should be the choice IMHO.

Why?
Well, they are both very good RTAs. But with the Russian, I find myself having to adjust the 510 connection pretty much every time I refill or rebuild. This can be a good thing being able to adjust it, so as you can have a flush fit on any mod. But that little screw can get annoying and doesn't stay where its set. It always backs out or in everytime you remove the tank.

The Kayfun on the other hand is a no fuss set up. It just works right everytime with no fiddling. The fact the airflow is on the bottom isn't really a issue in the end. Since once its set it stays there and I never touch it. Unless I want to change it.

Another small difference is in the build. Both are basically the same. But not with certain builds. For example, I used a 32g twist to build a coil. This is taking 32g Kanthal, doubling it up and use a drill to make a twisted or braided wire.
On the Kayfun, its pretty easy to get set up. just like any other coil. On the Russian, it took a little more work to get the wires to fasten down under the + and - posts. They kept slipping out. It can be done sure, but seemed it took a little more attention than it should have is all.

So, the Kayfun is still my go to and prefered RTA.
I have now moved the Kayfun back onto the Provari, and is my main setup again. Im using the Russian on my LavaTube as a secondary for another flavor.

Cheers for the update Wishmaster. I don't think I will go for a rebuildable. I don't really have the time right now. But useful to know.
I am still getting on well with the Nautilus. Except the other night I couldn't get the darn thing apart to refill it. I didn't think I overtightened it but I guess I did. I got it apart in the end with the help of some long nose pliers and a hammer (just joking on the hammer lol).

I ordered some of that Deadly Sin, it's being delivered to me in the UK. The shipping was not too bad at just over $9. I will let you know what I think of it if and when it arrives

Paul, keep the pliers handy. Every time I have opened it, I had to use them I think it is the plastic that fits real tight on the bottom piece which seals it. I think that is the problem.

No idea what causes them to not want to come apart.. Pressure inside maybe? Not sure. but its annoying when it happens
Keeping those pliers handy is a good idea because it will happen again.



I think you'll like Deadly Sin. It seems to be one of those flavors the majority find something to like about it.




The also have sample packs (4 bottles) at a discount so you can try a few flavors.
And the bigger bottle you buy, the cheaper it gets.
They have, IMHO, very good juices and are what I would consider quite fair on prices.

I'm ordering a few of their other offerings myself in small bottles to test out.
If I find 4 I like, I may go with the 4x50ml pack for $75. Thats should last me a good while with my monthly ZampleBox.
Seemed expensive till i done the math.

4-50ml bottles = 200ml of Ejuice.
At $75 thats 18.75 per bottle, or $3.75 per10 ml. A single 10ml is $6

That's not bad for a vendor juice IMHO. I just need to find 2 more I really like. So far, Deadly Sin and Fairy Blood are winners for me. The Fairy Blood probably isn't for everyone though.


I've tried alot of Vendor juices. Some very very good, but at $15 or so for a 10ml bottle, its not good enough IMO to justify the cost.

Yeah it is pretty annoying. I must have filled the tank at least 10 times now but thankfully I have only had to use the pliers once. Although I have had to put a lot of effort in getting it open most times.

I remember the reviews I watched, they all said don't tighten it too much but obviously you want to tighten it enough so you don't get juice everywhere. I will experiment a little.

Hmm, essenbe not sure why you have to do that everytime. Not over tightening are you? Should just need to snug it up a little.

It happens to me on occasion, but not everytime.

I think it may have something to do with pressure build up and heat. After a short time it tends to tighten a bit more. Or something along that line.
So if you have it snug, it should come off next time fairly easy.

My Russian needed the pliers to get the base of the tank earlier. But I did tighten it down pretty good. I thought it was leaking but it was just a error on my part.

Believe it or not, it really isn't that time consuming.
Although, the first couple times wrapping a coil can be a bit frustrating. But you'll pick it up real fast and it's pretty easy once you've done a couple times.
Once you get over that learning curve, takes about 10 minutes to wrap a coil and wick it.

That coil will be good for 2 weeks or longer. Unless you just want to change it. The wick (just cotton) can be changed when you swap flavor or starts loosing its flavor. Same flavor, that wick will be good at least a week.

The reason I say easier, is if you want to change flavors, it simply empty tank and rinse it.
Do a Dry burn. (Fire the coil with no wick to burn off debris)
Rewick, refill.
Now, if you change flavors a few times a day then yea, it can get time consuming I suppose. 5-10 minutes or so each time.

If you change your mind, do it again. That piece of cotton for a wick only costs you a couple pennys by the time its all said and done.
