I am also having this same problem.

I can not right click on ANYTHING on the desktop without the Explorer crashing on me.

I am running Windows 7 Ultimate (32bit)
I am ENTIRELY impressed with EVERYTHING about Windows 7, except for this constant crash.
What to do? I tried the Disabled Sessions method in the REGEDIT and I enabled Turn off Customer Experience Program in the GPEDIT......
what else could it be?

BTW, it doesn't only occur on the desktop but also whenever I try to right click on .exe files or sometimes when I am just trying to get to a files Properties. I have had Win7 for about 4 or 5 days now and it was a Clean install.

BlueScreenView Features

• Allows you to view a blue screen which is very similar to the one that Windows displayed during the crash.
• BlueScreenView enumerates the memory addresses inside the stack of the crash, and find all drivers/modules that might be involved in the crash.
• BlueScreenView also allows you to work with another instance of Windows, simply by choosing the right minidump folder (In Advanced Options).
• BlueScreenView automatically locate the drivers appeared in the crash dump, and extract their version resource information, including product name, file version, company, and file description.

If you've on had it for 4 days, I;d recommend a "clean" re-install.

Remember to save your Documents, Pictures, Music, contacts, etc to a flash drive

And you will have to re-install all your 3rd party applications.

Is that the event viewer log entry for it? If n ot can you go into event viewer to the windlws logs>application tabs and find the event ID and source for tha app hang.

1. Ensure Windows is updated fully.
2. Run an sfc /scannow by following this tutorial:

I keep having the exact same issue in Windows 7 64 bit and it always resolves when I disable Dropox in msconfig.exe/startup.
Every time I use Dropbox it re-installs itself in startup so I have to go back in and uncheck it.

This is probably the wrong section for this question because it's not a BSOD and I can keep working but it does take an app or two down with it so I have to restart to load it/them as they only load on startup.
