ASRock 890FX Deluxe5?

Hey guys,

I just want to know what you guys think about this motherboard.

My motherboard died recently (Tuesday) so I need a new one. I figured that since Bulldozer is coming out next month, I might as well get an AM3+ board so I can upgrade later.

This one seems to me like the best AM3+ board.

What are your opinions?

I don't know about the 890FX, but I am using their P67 Delux4 and it is rock solid.

Sorry for posting again :/

But, since this board supports DDR3 RAM at 1866MHz, does that mean I can actually OC my ram to that speed and use it? Or is that a limit for the CPU?

You can overclock, but personally I'd get an Asus board. I'd say they are more solid. My AsRock board doesn't come with the 2oz copper layer found in most other motherboards and its slightly cut down size wise. If you want to save some cash, then AsRock is great, but I'd get something like this:

It means pretty much that you will have to OC the system to get your ram up to 1866. The AM3 CPU's controller is on the chip. It will automatically set any ram at 1333 9-9-9-24. In order to increase the ram speed you would probably have to OC the cpu. I have done it before but am no authority. I would suggest you post a question on the Overclocking forum here. They will be able to help more. The new Bulldozer chip is supposed to change the controller.
