ASUS M2A-VM Problems

Hey guys.

So I am using the Asus M2A-Vm motherboard. Now, the board says it is ready for Vista and since people are saying that Windows 7 is pretty much backwards compatible, I thought I'd give it a try. I went from XP to W7. The installation went fine, other than the long boot time(I'm assuming it's from BIOS or drivers).

Here's my problem. When I try to install the drivers the setup will start like normal but then say "Your OS is not supported".Bummer. I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem with this board or know of a fix. I'm going to try to update the BIOS and see if that will fix anything since it hasen't been updated since '07.

Thanks.

edit: Because of this issue I've also not been able to install drivers for my GPU which is a nVidia 8600GT.

Well everything supposedly installed. Still the problem with installing nVidia drivers. It says there are no drivers available for my current hardware configuration. Yes, I am running it in compatibility mode. Any ideas?

Still the same problem. The issue is that after the install, it restarts the computer and then tries to start the install automatically. It wont autostart and when I put the autorun.exe in compat. mode, it still wont autostart. It doesn't even say the drivers installed.

Any ideas on how to get it to autostart?

I am also running a nVidia 8800 GT. Windows 7 has integrated support for nVidia drivers. I recommend running Windows Update, and installing the one supplied by Microsoft.

Otherwise, check your devices page, and look under the graphics controller list. It may already be installed and you just didn't realize it.
