ATI Radeon HD 4650 Windows 7 Problem

Hey Guys,

This is a help question it isn't my computer though. The person upgraded there video card to the ATI Radeon HD 4650 with 1GB GDDR3 video memory and runs just one display. He downloaded the latest drivers right from the ATI website and not the CD. Now what is happening is every so often when he boots up the system it will switch all his graphics over to the DVI Port When he has flat Panel monitor that doesn't have a DVI port on it. i don't seen anything wrong with the configuration settings. It it not over clocked, he just installed the video card and the latest drivers from ATI's Website. All he uses the system for is mostly Web surfing and on the occasion some little gaming Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

This happened me the other day when I was still using my HD4650 (its GDDR2 btw) and I simply ran the driver .exe again and it sorted it.

Failing that
Start>Type device manager>Hit Enter
Open Display adapters>Select yours>Properties>Driver Tab>Roll back Driver

Then wait for a more suitable driver.

Well I guess its GDDR2 I just went by what information he sent me and the roll back option is not selectable

Honestly I only know because I upgraded mine two days ago

Try removing the drivers and catalyst control centre and then re-install the version just before it .

I can get the previous from the ATI Support & Driver website correct?

Sorry, I must have missed your post.

What make is the graphics card?

Just my XFX had 2 DVI ports only.
I used an adapter on a VGA cable on the GPU side to VGA on the monitor side.

And just to confirm,can go to the GPU properties and get the driver version.
It will be in the device manager where you tried rolling back the driver earlier.
