Hi Dynentan,

Sometimes when i shut windows down, it pops up asking me if i want to close some of my programs. How do i disable this annoying popup message and make windows actually shut down?

That message is useful if somebody has forgotten to save a file before closing down. Is that the one you are talking about?

Sometimes can even be a word or text document (for example) still open and you didn't save the work so Windows prompts the message.
It can also be a program you closed but is still active in the RAM so you can choose to force the shut down once you're sure there is nothing to save.
It doesn't happen very often, sometimes I experience this issue when I use heavy programs chewing most of memory and swap file so Windows struggles to close them promptly or is doing it but it takes a bit more time.
I wouldn't worry too much unless you got spare time and be capable to deal with registry keys.

Very happy with this buid.
I struggled a lot to find all compatible parts since I wanted an Intel 1151 based motherboard so to be able to install Windows 7.
I chose this case because it has amazing air flow, it's sturdy and looks good.
The case included 1x 200mm front and 1x 120mm back fans, I added 1x 200mm on the top and 1x120 bottom fans and modded the panels with black stockings for women s

I agree!

Or, you could create a batch script and save it to the desktop and then just click it to force close [without the message] ALL of the open [in memory] programs and then shutdown the computer!

I hope this helps!

Windows Club's Ultimate Windows Tweaker II has a click somewhere for: force stuff to unload when programs are terminated. If/when you click on that and only that, on that same page's lower right corner, click Accept or Ok or Save (whatever that button is called), then exit program. That should help in many ways.
Note: anyone who candy-stores UWTII better have image restores handy.

I'd never tell you, or anyone, what to do, but let me tell you what I do. OK?

All the way back to Windows 98, I started using a "Quick Shutdown" icon on my desktop, or in my Quick Launch toolbar, at the bottom of my Desktop screen.
That shortcut to Windows' own Shutdown command, goes like this, for Windows 7 (also works for Win 8.1 and 10)
%windir%\System32\shutdown.exe /s /t 1
NOTE: There are three spaces in that line, and they ARE important.

There is another little program that I like to use, like when I have a bunch of Windows Explorer windows open. It's called "Close All.exe". I found it somewhere on the internet, downloaded it and use it almost every day. It's name says it ALL. Just clicking that one icon will close all open windows/programs.

Good Luck Mate!

That is very similar to what I suggested to Dynentan. In a batch script you could force shutdown by using . . .

Code:
Shutdown -s -f -t 0

Hi Dynentan,

Does it also shut down a text document that you havent saved? because thats the only situation i can think of where i want windows to ask me first.

This will make what you asked in your initial post more complicated!
You could probably do this using a batch script!

Hi Dynentan,
This will make what you asked in your initial post more complicated!

In fact I don't see a real issue here unless the OP has 100+ open documents and doesn't care about saving the work or another scenario would be if the OP wants to schedule an auto shutdown or he set a program to shut down the PC after the job is done.

He does care about saving any open Word documents!

He could use a batch script that saves the open Word document and then forces shutdown of the computer. Any more than one open Word document will make it more complicated though!
