B/T Speaker and low volume.

Ok, dig, I am a Mac guy and I had to get a Windows laptop for work. So please understand I don't know anything.

First easy question : I have a Braven Balance B/T speaker, when I connected it (Which took like 15 minutes ??) it gets labeled as a headset. It's a speaker!

Then the volume is very low, I can turn up Pandora, the main system volume and I still believe it's low. Also, I do not have the Properties > Levels > Enhancements like I have read about. Under Levels I get Balance, that's it.

Can someone who is patient help me thru this starting point and maybe we can go further. I can provide screen shots of anything necessary.

Thanks so much.

We needed to know just what Blu tooth setup is on your machine and for your pic it is an Intel for Radio now there is also another for audio which I personally have not come across before as there several Blu tooth setups (manufacturers). Also one usually pairs a device with Blu tooth so have you dome that/

if you go into Start > Printers and devices is there any Blu tooth listed there?

If not then go to the Notifications panel (click on the circled arrow in my pic > click it and hit Customise > it opens up a screen with all the things you can have on the right side of the taskbar - there should be a Blu tooth icon in there > click on the box alongside it and a menu will drop down and give you three options Hide everything / Show notifications only / Show icon and notifications (I keep the latter on my machines on my taskbar/s for easy access)

Close that window / panel and click on that added icon on the taskbar > then click on add devices - making sure the device/s are switched on and discoverable. Click on the headphones and it should start to look for it and when it does the software for it will install. Then just below that Add device in that same panel it should show you what Blu tooth devices are added - it should show you the actual device you have just added - for example Joeys headphones or maybe just headphones .

Sometimes you have to repeat this procedure and if it still fails go to what I nave put below.

Now it sounds complicated but really it isn't plus you may have to go to Dell support for that machine and get a driver for Blu tooth devices

My speaker is in Devices. I can use it. The volume is very low.

I have to turn both system and Pandora/WMP to be able to hear it.

I have read about being able to go from device, properties to levels and then enhancements. I only show balance there. And why is it listed as a headset or head phones when it's a speaker ? Does Windows know the difference or is that label what it will call anything that uses B/T for audio ?
