When I click on Manage Space, about 45 seconds go by and then a little box appears with Manage Windows Backup disk space displayed at the top of the box and "Server execution failed (0x80080005)" appears.
When I click on OK, Manage Windows Backup disk space appears and under Backup location: It says The backup location is not connected. It has the word Browse under it underlined and in blue (click-able) and when I click on it, my F: drive contents appears (1TB Fantom drive) folders and everything.
My F: drive also appears under Backup Location on Backup and Restore as normal.
This may have something to do with it, but I do not know how.
I have defraggler scheduled to defragment C: drive at 4 AM every day and it never
gets it below 15 or 17 percent fragmentation. This is because System Volume Information does not defragment. While searching for solutions I came across a Microsoft XP solution that said take ownership of System Volume Information.
So I logged in as Administrator and did exactly that and tried to defragment again.
It did not help, so I set it back (I had just added Administrator to Security Permissions with full control.) then I went back in and deleted Administrator from the permissions.
Well I restored the system to 2 days ago, which is as far as I could go.
I don't know what's up with that - 4 restore points that span 2 days!
I should have more than that one would think.
Anyway, It still got the exact same error doing the exact same thing mentioned above.
"Server execution failed (0x80080005)".
Before today I was able to see 3 or 4 backup sets by clicking on Manage Space, but not anymore. I just get the error.
I triggered a backup and it is running...
It finished successfully, but I still get the afore mentioned error.
This just became critical because I logged in as Administrator and brought up Backup and Restore,
clicked on Create a System Image and I received the error “The backup application could not start due to an internal error: Server execution failed (0x80080005).” I was going to start over and see if this error would go away by doing that. But, I do not want to delete my one system image if I am not going to be able to create another one.
Thanks in advance for any help!
