I'm looking for software freeware/purchase, doesn't matter, would like something to fix/clean registry, check for spam/spyware, and clean up diskspace ... any recommendations on the best out there?

thanks all

I'd say the best software for performance and maintenance has to be tune up utilities. It is available as a trial for 30 days.

Win7 requires no tweaking only normal system settings.

Use free state-of-the-art CCleaner "Run Cleaner" and Registry tab, followed by Auslogics Disk and Regstry Defraggers monthly.

Replace any bloated AV solution with lightweight free MS Security Essentials, allow to update, do a Full Scan.

Uncheck any freeloaders in msconfig>Startup. I only allow AV and gadgets.

As mentioned, you don't need anything, especially not something with a cost, like TuneUp Utilities. They serve no real purpose with Windows 7.

Run CCleaner to keep the reg clean, and manage startup items. It can also clean out temp files, but make sure you review the results before clicking to delete them. Run a good, light AV software package like MSE, and then keep a manually scanner as a second opinion, such as Malwarebytes Anti-Malware.

That's all you need, and doesn't cost you a dime.
