Also it would be good to take a look at the temps too - use Speccy for a guide.

Speccy - Download (download from piriform)

Hi, thanks very much for the reply. I'm in urgent need of a diagnostic here, I bought this used mother board for me laptop and one of the DIMM slots appear to be damaged. And I have only 3.74gb usable of 8gb installed. The motherboard should accept 8gb. Also the bios or windows will not boot with RAM in the bottom slot only. will boot fine with RAM n the top slot only. I'd like the most evidence I can get against this chinese retailer so i can get a refund.

Temperatures are fine. I keep the dust out of my fan sink and I record temps during gaming and have never seen them above 65C on the CPU and 70C for the GPU

I have updated my system specsnow you should be able to view them.

Thanks

here is also a blue screen event capture from BluScreenView program

There's no dump(s) in your zip file. The 3B check code is a service exception. I made a note in your other thread about what may cause this but the dumps will be needed to pin it down.

Here's the cross post:
There were no dumps in your zip file. I did notice two AVs running. This can sometimes cause a problem. And it will definitely slow your system down. You also have something similar to Daemon tools that often causes a problem. (I got curious after seeing five DVDs on a laptop.) I think it's Magic ISO or some such. Without the dump(s), that's just a guess but it's a place to start.

SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION (3b)
An exception happened while executing a system service routine.

This error has been linked to excessive paged pool usage and may occur due to user-mode graphics drivers crossing over and passing bad data to the kernel code. Your display drivers are a little aged but they weren't flagged in the dump. You might check for an update. Also consider what was already mentioned.

Yes, that's often a cause of errors due to how the Daemons fudge the DVD drive.

I searched this after reading BluescreenView logs.

It can be memory related, if graphics drivers or direct X are not to blame??

But OK, i unmounted and disabled all virtual drives since there was no need for them anyhow.

i got this blue screen while in game "Crysis"

I seem to be able to play F.E.A.R. without any blue screens but is only a directX 8 or 9 level game

That's what the page pool is--Memory. However, you did say you ran memtest. I saw Crysis in the dump but that just happened to be the process running in the page. It's not impossible that Crysis itself is not playing nice with memory. I'm not into games but you might also check to see if there's an update or fix on their forum. (If they have one.) Also try backing off frame rates or other "go-fast" options.

Also check your Pagefile size. If you removed the 4GB module, change the pagefile back to 4GB. Memory is busy on your system and a spinner may not keep up.

Right...I SHOULD be running 8gb :warn::banghead::banghead::banghead:

I could run the game on lowish settings on my old mobo(6370m) and I never had blue screen. that was with 8gb of RAM

You mean run the computer with just the one memory stick?

Also, by changing pagefile you mean virtual memory custom size in advanced performance options? Do I set initial size and maximum size to 4096mb?

Also what is a spinner?

Let me know if I have this right

The virtual memory looks good.

Yes, use the one good memory socket with one 4GB module. Leave the other empty--It's not working anyway.

Sorry for slang. "Spinner" refers to your HDD. :o

Seems a little high. Mine is at 93MB but I have an integrated GPU. Your graphics card is probably using that.

Thanks..

I guess I'll make due with the 4gb until I cant get my hands on a 8gb stick..if it works

games rarely require more than 1gb of system memory to run...I can shut down some services and things that hog memory before I enter gaming mode

Thanks again for your help
