HI, thank you so much for your help with this PC disaster . It does seem like a hard drive replacement situation perhaps but I
haven't been able to properly discover if there is any virus or not since I can't get in...and I always have Norton running so maybe it's not a virus but -I'm going to try to run an external hard drive to see if it'll boot up with it. I'll keep you posted:)

IRQ is a interrupt request which is sent to the APIC or PIC, and then matched with a interrupt vector within the IDT, a ISR is an sent to process the IRQ.

I'm guessing with that error, the interrupt wasn't sent or processed in time, and may have timed out.

Dell also suggests replacing the hard-drive - Error Code 0F00:1332. Msg: Disk - Block 512: Interrupt Request (IRQ) did not set in time. - Disk Drives (HDD, CD/DVD, Blu-ray) Forum - Disk Drives - Dell Community
That's a lot of "PDQX" stuf Harry, can you explain what you said for us mortals please? :(

HI, ok so this is the series of pictures showing what happens when I tried to boot from a 'my book external HD'
The most significant thing is that for the first time I'm able to get the place where I can choose to try the 'Start up repair' but nothing actual comes of it:confused:

HI, also some notes:)
Pic #3-this is where it pretty much ended before hooking up the mybook hD.
with the mybook there is a pause of a few seconds and then goes to the 4th pic.whereas without the mybook it would freeze at the blue screen with a larger curser.
Pic #12-here are few options- if I try system restore-it looks like I can choose (pic #14)'system protection' to create a timeframe but I can't access it -it just looks like I can.
System recover image-I don't have an earlier image (that I know of)
System memory diagnostic-is where I received the time out message I posted earlier about.
Dell command prompt? I'm not experience with this at all.
Dell data safe and emergency back up- I do not have most of this hard drive backed up ( I know that is very bad) and I'm not sure how to run this with out losing everything?
I'm hoping someone can make something of this????

HI, thank you so much for this program! I have been able to boot up with the 'How to Create a Live Peppermint3 CD/DVD/USB to Backup Data When Windows 7 Will Not Boot' and save my files off my HD and I'm copying into a folder on MyBook now as I type.
So does this mean its a windows 7 issue??
:)

If it hasn't crashed, then it may well be a Windows 7 issue.

With Linux LiveCD? I think the hard drive is the problem then.

HI, I'm sorry but I'm confused: I was able to retrieve and copy all of my files with the link you posted but the pc never actually started up...meaning there was never a log on screen or anything like that. But is the ability of retrieving the files the same as booting up? Or not?

With a Linux LiveCD, your booting from the image stored on the DVD or USB stick, it's completely independent of the Windows boot process.

HI again:)
well, next I've tried to reinstall Norton but couldn't get online via dsl/Verizon as usual because I get the message : No network adapter. I tried to reinstall Verizon with the original disc and I get the message that there is a connectivity issue-no network adapter.
Do you know what to make of this?

HI, well I took you advice and it all seemed to work :D but now I have another problem...
I have 2 drives now (?) the D drive which is filled to the brim and I have been warned about needing to make more file space. I cleaned it. fragmented it and compressed which all worked. But really still too full-got a message that if it crashed there wouldb't be enought memory to get it back up and running.
Then there is the C Drive which is almost empty but I can't seem to get the computer to run from it????
The D Drive;'s bar is all red. The C drive has some green on the bar-not much.
