Blue Screen on Startup

I installed RC1 a couple months ago and it was working great. Today quite randomly my computer froze. I held the power button down and turned it off, but now it won't start up again.
At first the only thing that happened was the computer would turn on but the screen would show nothing. I turned it off again for a couple minutes and tried again. This time it got to the windows starting screen before flashing a blue screen and restarting. I tried doing windows repair, but it gets stuck on loading files, or it goes to a black screen with a red bar at the top.
Safe modes and last good config all get blue screens.
When i do the disable auto restart option it gives me two separate blue screens.
The first one i got said Bad_Pool_Header and the second one says a device driver was trying to corrupt my system.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi cornisnice, welcome to the forums.

When you restart, unplug any/all USB prepherals and see if that has any effect on your startup then report back.

Also, did you install any new software/hardware before the crash?

Hope this helps :)

Hi, thanks for the reply,
I haven't installed anything within the last couple days.
Unplugging all the USB devices had no effect on the startup, it still takes me to a blue screen no matter what :(

From what you are explaining, if the repair or reinstall does not solve the issue, you could have some sectors in your HD going out. I would also reseat your RAM dimms.

Awesome. Just a suggestion, I would set the automatic updates for review before install. Goodluck.

Well unfortunately just minutes after i logged myself in, my computer froze yet again. I powered down and turned the computer back on and once again the blue screens returned. This time however, the when i booted from disk it kept getting stuck at loading files, or stuck at the starting windows screen after the loading files screen.

Many reports state that if you wait a while (sometimes 10 minutes) it carries on like usual. Might be worth a try.

Is the blue screen the one with white lettering all over it? If so, get the information after the word "STOP" - it's usually down in the lower 1/3 of the screen.

Did you reseat your RAM? Pull all the RAM out but one stick and boot from there, do you still get BSOD?

so i just got my computer back from my school's IT department (they did nothing useful except get my word documents off the harddrive) and i took out all the RAM except for one stick (i only have two 2gig sticks) and it managed to reach the startup repair process. So far so good, ill post the results as they come up.

Interestingly, the startup repair failed and i restarted and my computer miraculously was able to boot up. i shut it down again and put my second stick back in and i was able to connect to the internet and write this message!
I am still curious as to what could have caused this problem, but i'm pretty happy that computer is back and working. thanks a bunch!

Just to be quirky, I'd defrag, then open and check system to chkdsk,.
then i'd restart not shutdown, but restart and let system do a complete chkdsk, for bad sectors and repair also for cross-linked files... sounds like
cross-linked files to me... but a bad sector can do the same thing...

i defragged and then tried to do a chkdsk from cmd prompt. it told me that "Chkdsk cannot run because the volume is in use by another process.
I'm restarting now to do a complete chkdsk.

I just finished the restart and it said that my the volume was clean. is there another check that i can do? i really want to know what caused this problem.

My computer just froze again and i had to power down and restart, however there were no more blue screens and it started up again smoothly. Very strange symptoms.

I just tried to do another startup repair and i got a blue screen that has this info:
