Blue screen when laptop is idle

Hello there,
I resently got a new laptop, the asus g53jw. I noticed that whenever i leave from my computer for some time (more than 15-20 minutes) it turns off. when i turn it back on it says that the error was a blue screen of death! the notebook had windows 7 premium x64 and i reinstall windows professional x64, but the problem still exists. i attached. so notebook is new and last windows installation was a week ago. attached if the perfmon.html and the Windows_NT6_BSOD_jcgriff2 folder

App error logs are all over the place including dump failures even.
The error logged today was Msiexec which is the microsoft installer service.

Anyhow I suggest using the download tab here.

To see what you can update in the way of drivers. I also notice there are several bios updates available for that laptop. You may want to check to see if sleep mode problems are covered by any of those bios updates.

Updating drivers to absolute latest versions never hurts anything. ...unless it's nvidia or ati drivers... then it's kind of a coin toss...

i did bios updates, i forgot to mention that when i get the blue screen error, the laptop hanks on the shuting down screen always. to fix that i restore to an earlier date, before the blue screen error. I attached a new Windows_NT6_BSOD_jcgriff2.zip with the dump file (i cut/paste by accident the dump file earlier to different location, sorry)

ATK64AMD.sys Tue May 12 20:04:54 2009 This driver is older than it should be it's listed as a ACPI UTILITY Driver, this actually could be the source of the error.
You may have trouble finding a update for it if you did not find one on the asus site already though. I know the company responsible for it is found here.

but I could not find the exact driver you need... hopefully asus has it.

You should also update the Atheros driver Atheros Communications

Let's take this one step at a time, it's very possible the acpi is the problem.
If you can find a proper update for it, I kind of hit a dead end, but I don't have the specific device information and you do.

I started chatting with asus support and they told me to update the bios (which i did previously!). i thought to do it again. They told my to download the asus update utility, install it and update the bios. During the installation of asus utility (thank god not during updating) i got a blue screen! can you please check the attached and help me figure out where this failure comes from? :shock:

The new dump blames the asus bios tool.
Does your motherboard support the flash drive flash method?

Actually scratch that, you are still under warranty and support, I would start a ticket with asus. My guess is as they did with my motherboard (different problem but same general situation) they have a fix but you have to actually contact them to get it.

thats what i am trying... the annoying thing is that i will end up shipping the a brand new laptop to Asus, and waiting at least 2-3 weeks (if not more) to get it back! and IF they fix the issue... i will do a memory test and then start the ticket with them!
